“nice and spacial room, great service”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We (me, my son and daughter) stayed in Relais Conte di Cavour for 2 nights. The room was clean, spacial (even with three persons), fine beds en great shower. Service was very good. We came in early, could leave the luggage, received coffee and a lot of information about transport, location en restaurants. During our stay, we we able to get in and out with our entrance card. Breakfast is nice: bread, pastries, toast, fruits, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, meat, eggs, juice, coffee and tea. Enough to walk a lot of miles...
On our last day we left late in the afternoon. The owner allowed us to leave luggage in the B&B, so we could pick it up on the way to the airport.
The B&B is just near the trainstation, busstop and the road directly tot the centre.
The entrance dousn't look inviting, but once you get inside the B&B it's very good!

Room Tip: small lift (max.3 persons)

We arrived early and very friendly staff help us to give us the room and indications of the hotel.
The breakfast very decent ,good coffee ,pastries, toast, fruits, cereal and yogurt.

The staff very helpful and good location near to the train terminal.
The only very tuff part is kind of hard to locate the hotel for the 1st time, the hotel is inside a building on the 4rd floor .And the elevator is very small.
But we enjoy our stay.

We arrived at this hotel soaking wet - thanks to a storm! The owners were extremely inviting despite our dripping clothes and bags. We were treated to a glass of champagne and nibbles and made to feel very welcome. She even gave us a towel to dry off a bit while we had our drink. She asked us what we were interested in seeing in Rome and then set about telling us how to get to the different points of interest with buses and trains. She also gave us maps and marked out the way to walk as well. Very helpful. Our room was tastefully decorated and very spacious and we loved the shower! The breakfast was extremely good. I was a bit worried because I had read it wasn't great but we certainly didn't experience that. We had all we could eat and couldn't fault it. We only had 1 night here unfortunately as it was at the end of our travels. We certainly would loved to have stayed longer. It is so handy to everything. A short walk from the Termini - maybe 5 minutes, and close to the Colosseum and easy walk to the Trivi fountain and Spanish Steps.
We would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to come back again. Great value.

Stayed at The Relais Conte Di Cavour at the end of October and the experience was very good. On arrival we were greeted by the owner with complimentary drinks. She took considerable time showing us to our room and then going through suggestions for travel, sites to visit and places to dine during our four night stay in Rome - all of which was very helpful.
The location is excellent, a five minute walk to Termini and ten to the Colossuem/ Forum. The family rooms are very comfortable and the hydro-massage shower is fantastic. Mornings tended to be a little noisy from 7:30 onwards but this shouldn't put you off from what is a great little hotel in a great location with friendly staff at a reasonable cost.
Some tips: The Patisserie Roscini [turn right on Via Cavour and again first right] is really nice for fresh panini's and pastries. The Druids Rock Bar [opposite the back of the Basilica Santa Maggiore] is a good bar for a drink on the way back from touring the sites or on the way out on the town - friendly staff here. The Santa Maggiore Gelataria is also very good and was popular with our children. Avoid the Bella Roma Restaurant opposite on Via Cavour at all costs - never experienced such rude service.

I had to write a review to tell you all about our amazing stay here. We stayed here for 3 nights last week & I cannot fault the place.

We were welcomed warmly when we arrived at the B&B - taken to our lovely spacious room by the owner. After settling in, we were about to go out & the owner was there with glasses of champagne & nibbles to welcome us. She then spent a good 20/30 minutes telling us all we needed to know about Rome. Which, it's invaluable knowledge!! Recommending us places to go & eat, which bus/metro routes to use & where to visit. The food recommendations were great - we checked them out on trip advisor before we went & all of them were well recommended . . . so she was so honest.

Don't believe what you read about the breakfast - it was fantastic! If you do your research of places to stay within Rome city centre, you will know that most places at the same price as this place will give you a voucher for coffee & a croissant at a nearby cafe. This B&B has their own breakfast area. They have a great selection . . . fresh croissants from a nearby bakery (which were soooooo yummy!) cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, toast, yoghurts & a coffee machine giving you a great selection. There was more than enough for you to eat a good breakfast & you don't need to worry that they will run out - plenty of food to fill you up.

The room itself was very spacious (considering you're in central Rome!) High ceilings, large TV with Italian Sky, very pretty LED lighting, big bathroom with a shower big enough for 2 people easily! The shower was lovely, had hydro massage heads & a big rainforest shower head . . . so you could have either or - bliss! My only (very tiny) complaint about the room was that the pillows were a bit hard & flat . . . but nothing we couldn't manage on for a couple of nights.

The location is great. Minutes away from the central Termini station (which trains & buses from airports go to) a 10 minute walk to the colloseum. As already said, it's a bit far to walk to the Vatican. We got the metro to the Vatican & walked back going via Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps. Took us the day, but it was a great walk & we were constantly stopping for drinks, food & shopping!!

Can't recommend this place enough - make the right decision & chose this lovely B&B to enjoy what Roma has to offer. You won't be disappointed . . . !

Pretty decent stay, location was good and rooms were clean (the bathroom however was a bit smelly.. quite annoying)
Don't expect too much of the breakfast, the croissant and coffee was enough to wake us up and head for the city.
For independent travellers it's great.

We stayed here for for 4 nights in September when visiting Rome and this place is great value for money. 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini, 10 minute walk to Colloseum, 15 mins to Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. It's a bit far from the Vatican but it can't be close to everything, however, the metro can be taken from Roma Termini.

The breakfast here is pretty basic and I was a little disappointed by it and the selection but it will still get you set up for the day if you choose to eat there.

The staff were brilliant. Don't be put off by the Italian reviews if you speak English, the staff have good English and are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We got a limousine service to this hotel from the Airport. It cost €45 euro but was very much worth it and it all was arranged by the hotel and went very smoothly.

The rooms is gorgeous and we loved the shower. They have Sky digital Italy as well.

My only real complaint is the bell or phone, I never figured out which, that went off every morning woke me up. I suggest they fix this so it won't wake their guests. Other than that the rooms totally sound protected from the outside world.

Thanks to all the staff for making us feel very welcome and this a really enjoyable stay in Rome. I'll be staying here again the next time I'm in Rome.
