“Great value and good breakfast!”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

Even before our arrival Michelle took great care of us by asking for anything we need and arranging our private transportation from the airport to our B&B. During our stay everything went smoothly from tasty breakfasts to choosing a good restaurant. Staff was really helpful and friendly and gave good tips. We stayed here for 5 nights in the Beatrice room which was romantic with its red decoration. We'd like to address the pros and cons of this B&B briefly (pros greatly outweigh the cons):

Pros:

- location, the neighbourhood was safe, vatican is 200 meters away and there were some great restaurants nearby.
- friendly staff, great filippinos :)
- breakfast, the possibility to customize it to suit your taste (different coffees, pastries etc.) and choose the time from 8:30 to 9:30
- clean rooms, bathrobes, towels, slippers, hair dryer
- free minibar
- really fast and easy to use wifi (no need for registration)
- possibility of transportation from the airport and back with good, air-conditioned BMW cars for 45euros per one direction
- free umbrellas to borrow

cons:
- air condition was not available at the time
- the room doors were paper (all sounds could pass through, if you know what we mean ;)
- street sounds were really loud especially at the weekend
- the room was very tidy, but quite small (not that much closet space)
- it varied a lot how the staff was around at the B&B

All in all a very good experience for a reasonable budget. Definitely would recommend for couples!

3 days / 2 nights at this hotel 300m near San Pietro Piazza, Vatican, 20m from Ottaviano subway to go to Coliseo in 20 minutes.
Excellent reception from the young lady where suitable rooms are provided. Contemporary and modern room with Wifi and lots of free TV channels (wide 32" Samsung TV), king bed size and a nice shower. Double windows ensure a quiet night with electronic card door for security access.
Cheap restaurants and lots of fast food pizzas are around the hotel to be convenient after a long day trip. Even Macdo and Burger King are 30m around.
Breakfast is served in the morning in your room where you can select each day your menu. Even mini bar is free to get some cokes or fresh bottles of water !
The charming Michelle from the office is there to help you to book a shuttle to go on time at the airport or to give you some instructions to visit the best areas of the town.
I recommend a lot this formula which gather all positive aspects and guarantee a very nice trip !

My wife and I had such a great time in Rome this past week, as well as in this B&B, it's located in a good area of the town, next to the vatican city, next to a subway station so you can easily reach every part of the city. The breakfast is really good. and if you need anything, just ask to Michelle, she is great. I totally recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights the first week of March 2014.
It is very close to Vatikano and 20mtrs from Otaviano metro station, so you can be in the
city center very soon and easily.
Nearby are places for coffee and restaurants which is very convenient when you are exhausted from the tour in the city.
Also exactly in front of the hotel are shops to buy presents, in good prices, so you don't need to
carry things along with you while sightseeing.
Special thanks to Michelle, who is very helpfull and polite.
She gave us a map and instructions as soon as we arrived and gave us some tips
until we found our own way around Rome.
She arranged for our transportation from and back to the airport, which was very convenient
as we didn't have to carry any luggage.
She even arranged for our breakfast from the previous night for the days that we had to leave the room very early in the morning.
The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was satisfying.
There was a big window and the room had really good light and the nice red curtains
would give us privacy
Though the road in front is big there is no noise in the room.
The heating was proper and we had hot water available from early in the moring until late at night.
All in all we are very pleased with our stay at Amor and would definately stay again there
next time we visit Rome.

Room Tip: we asked to see also some other double rooms and realy liked them all

We stayed at Amor for a weekend in February 2014. The welcome was very friendly and we were offered a free drink as we checked in. The rooms were clean and contemporary and breakfast was bought up to our room at our chosen time each day (you choose what you want from a menu). There was a free mini-bar in the room and umbrellas you could borrow (great for us as it rained the entire trip!). The location was perfect - 5 minute walk from the Vatican - and although the B & B was on a main road, there was no noise at all when the window was shut.

Highly recommended: fantastic friendly and helpful service, relatively inexpensive option in Rome, and convenient location.

Positives:
- Very close to Ottaviano metro (linea A) station, it was about 6 stops from Rome Termini (where the airport train comes in and where you would most likely get the train from if you are travelling intercity). You can also change metro lines at Termini if you want to catch the metro to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. The one ticket will work till your end destination, just don't get out of the station.
- The B&B is located within a 5 story terrace on a main road with plenty of restaurants (both casual pizza take away joints to high brow dining) around the area. There's also lots of shops (clothes and shoes mainly) in the area. It's more of a 'modern' cosmopolitan area rather than the traditional old cobblestone streets. Although located on the main road, the soundproofing is amazing.
- About 15 min walk to the Vatican. Follow the signs (and the tourists), you can't miss it.
- Fantastic service! Michelle spoke excellent English and always had a smile. She gave us some guidance on where to eat, what to see, and can also book tickets to various events for you.
- Funky rooms with cool modern decor. I'm not a fan of "traditional" rooms so i appreciate a new renovated room. The rooms were minimalist in design but still functional and comfortable.
- There's a lift which you'll probably need going up 5 floors with all your luggage.
- Breakfast was served in the room at the time you specify. It's the usual continental style - cakes, toast, ham, cheese, yoghurt, coffee, tea etc...

Negatives:
- The beds were pretty hard but i think it's an italian thing, most places we stayed at had hard beds.
- Bathroom is beautiful but small and hot water took quite a while to heat up.

Re location:
I would definitely stay in Prati if we went back to Rome. It's much cheaper and less over run with tourists but still has the convenience of being able to walk or catch the metro to the major tourist sites, plus have plenty of eating options around the area. It's also easy to get to Trastervere, and Campo dei firori. You can either get a bus or go for a nice stroll along the river for about 30 mins.

Re Amor B&B: definitely recommended!

Room Tip: Soundproofing is very effective and all the rooms looked great

We only stayed or one night but the room stood up to the great reviews. Our room was nice and clean, the mini-bar was stocked with complimentary snacks and beverages and even though the room overlooked the street, once the windows were close it was quiet. Michelle was very professional and spoke excellent English and the complementary breakfast was great! It was really nice having a bite to eat delivered to our room before we got our ride to the airport.
