Alex is a glass enclosed restaurant on the pavement directly in front of Hotel Alexandra. We had two dinners here while in Rome and would definitely return on another trip. The menu has gluten free offerings which my husband enjoyed. I ordered salmon with orange sauce the first night and veal on our second visit. Both were lovely. Roasted vegetables, while pricey, are an excellent side dish and large enough to share. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you, Marco!

Couldn't have been better!
Staff was attentive and friendly. Loved sitting on the sidewalk yet inside the glass - very cozy.
The wine was wonderful (we had Tenuta Lodola Nuova (2009), but the best part was the Mozarella di bufala appetizer. A must have! Then, the lasagna was the best we've had in Italy so far -- tasty sauce and meat.
On your stroll up Via Veneto, this is a good place to stop!

Cafe Alex is one of the several pavement conservatory restaurants on Via Veneto which are situated outside larger restaurants or hotels. It has the advantages of a pavement restaurant in terms of views and people watching with the added benefit of climate control and a little more formality.

The menu was standard fare for the restaurants in the area in terms of choice and price. Although not hugely inspiring, food was well cooked and presented and the waiting staff were polite and efficient albeit not particularly engaging.

Overall, a pleasant night out on Via Veneto which is one of the nicest boulevards in Rome.

We were there on a rainy night. The street side tables were in a glass enclosed area that had air conditioning. Service was great, food was delicious.
