“Good hotel in good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

The location is great (near Termini station and subway) since you can visit a lot of monuments that are at walking distance (Coliseum, Forum, 15 minutes on one side, on the other the Panteon, Trevi fountain... 15 minutes too).
The hotel is located on a little street which quiet.
The room was spacious for 2 persons and clean.
Staff friendly and helpful.

Check-in and check out was very easy, staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean. We got one of the rooms which has 2 singles making up a double, but thanks to a previous review on here I knew that they had toppers which could be fitted to stop the beds sliding apart and soften the firm mattress, the staff immediately did this when asked. The room was fairly small but was at the front and had a small balcony, which was needed as the temperature in the room in January exceeded 25 degrees! This is thanks to the heating being set to one temp throughout the hotel in winter, rendering the in room thermostat control useless, but we did manage to get them to reduce the overall temperature and they were happy to supply a fan for the room, the temperature is my only criticism, the location is superb and we walked pretty much everywhere or got on the sightseeing bus just a few minutes walk from the hotel, we also used the metro (underground) which is also just a few minutes around the corner. There is a heated undercover roof garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine bought from the onsite vending machines or from the local spar (on Via nationale - 10 mins walk, if that) where you can get wine from 2 euros a litre- happy days :)

Room Tip: I think we were in 412 which was the far end at the from, small, but is one of the few rooms with a...

Previus reviews have said it all really so I will keep this short.
Positives : extremely helpful and courteous staff, spotlessly clean hotel and rooms, good breakfast, good location, very good value for city centre hotel, great rooms with excellent bathroom/shower.
Negatives : if you like soft beds this isn't the place for you. Gym is tiny and should be described as a c.v room as weights are minimal. Gets very warm in room.

Overall though I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. A fantastic place.

LOCATION: With carry-on luggage in tow, it's a 5 to 8 minute walk from Rome's main train station, Termini. Fiumicino Airport is a 30 mins drive away though. It is also right next to an opera theatre, pity is was closed while we were there. It's a walking distance from the main attractions...The Colosseum (15 minutes), Trevi Fountain (15 minutes) Spanish Steps and The Pantheon (20 minutes). Metred taxis are a 4 minute walk away while a 1 minute walk will take you to Via Nazionale, a wide shopping street with just two big brand stores, so you may stumble upon some really good bargains here. There is also a convenience Spar store in case you want to stock up on supplies. Many quality restaurants very near by too, and if fast food suits you, there is McD's on the corner. Best for us were the narrow cobbled stoned streets around the hotel where you will stumble upon delightful little shops selling art, novelties, designer furniture and what not. So yes location was perfect for us!

STAFF: Can't remember their names but they were ALL very helpful during check in and check out, and of course during our stay. They'll give you a map and highlight all the attractions for you and guide you which way to go. Both check in and check out was a breeze. Even though check-in is at 2pm, they will genuinely try and get the room ready if you happen to arrive earlier.

CLEANLINESS & AMENITIES: Just as all the other reviews, the hotel and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable, pillows soft. TV had a few English TV channels. Wifi was excellent. Our room had a balcony as well but wasn't used much, this being winter. Breakfast at only 10 Euro per person was pretty good and plentiful, with some fine pastries too. Business centre is open 24 hours a day, so get your boarding passes printed here free of charge at your convenience before flying out. They also have a free and secure luggage storage room which we used to keep our extra baggage while we toured other cities for a week. Of course, you'll have to check in for at least a night before you finally head back home for them to allow you to use this store room.

Only gripe was the self service washing machines. It would not be bad if they could add a surcharge and let them do it for us. The last thing you want to do with limited time in Rome is to spend precious 3 hours doing laundry. The aircon wasn't maintaining the temperature as well, but a phone call did the trick.

Final word; I will recommend to others and stay here again next time in Rome.

Room Tip: Room 421. Small room but with a view overlooking the open space outside the theatre.

After being in a couple of B&B's in other Italian cities, the iQ was a perfect spot for our visit to Rome. Having a clean, modern room with a shower you could turn around in was a welcome relief. The location was perfect. We could walk to Termini Train Station and the Republica subway stop was a couple of blocks away putting all of Rome at your fingertips. We particularly enjoyed the vending machine which sold a variety of goods including wine. We spent a couple of evenings on the roof-top terrace enjoying a glass of wine and planning our next day's adventure. Another great plus was coin op washer and dryer, although this was also a negative in that there was only one of each and competition for their use was stiff. That would be our only suggestion ... get a couple more washer and dryers. Otherwise the iQ Roma was perfect for us.
