“This is a very nice hotel to stay in Rome.”
Reviewed August 26, 2011

This is indeed a very nice hotel to stay. We stay for three nights at IQ hotel and we were very pleased to choose this hotel.
Just a short walk from Rome central train station (Termini) in a not very quiet position, even if were on the 4th floor we can hear the noise from the street.
Otherwise the hotel was really, really great. We choose to stay in a small double room, yes it is really small, but the room was very cosy with a great bathroom with shower and good space.
The best things and this is why if we ever visit Rome again we choose again IQ is the beautiful terrace with the vending machines and the one of the best breakfast I have ever eaten in my life.
Before we visit Rome we believe that Rome is a large town having very long distances between the sightseeing but we were wrong. Rome is one of the best walking cities in Europe. I believe that is the best city for families with little children’s.
You can get to any sight that you want from the hotel in no more than an hour. Piazza di Spagna is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel and also Fontana di Trevi.
Because I and my wife like to walk very much after our second day we see all the major sights of Rome so we were a little board.
And there is where IQ Hotel terrace came and save our trip! After a long walk I Rome with the temperature been more than 36 Celsius (Middle July) the nights on the terrace was like an oasis for us. The vending machines with bottles of water and snacks, another one with beverages and one with free ice and coffee (You will find the cheapest bottle of water in all Rome, trust me just 50 cent a bottle).
If you are thinking to book a room with breakfast or without, do not bother take the breakfast. I cannot get of my chair after eating one the most delicious and full of everything that you can imagine breakfast. It worth every cent you pay.
I must not forget the excellent free Wi-Fi.
Yes it is an expensive hotel with not so good soundproof but the night times that we have on the terrace of the IQ Hotel with other guests of other countries made that trip one of the best we have and trust me we travel a lot.
Hope you find my contribution helpful for you.

Room Tip: Try to take a room on an upper floor so you cannot hear the noises from the street.

We selected the IQ Roma because of its location (close to train station). The room we had was kind of small but super clean and it did have everything we needed. The location turned out to be super most attractions within easy walking distance. The Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, plenty of places to eat nearby that were excellent. The liquor vending machine by the 5th floor garden area is super nice. As a smoker I also appreciated the smoking balconies that were located on each floor. Will definately stay here again on our next visit to Rome.

A fabulous hotel, I booked early and got a great deal - stayed for 3 nights. Spotlessly clean, good sized room with wonderful bathroom. Best black-out curtains EVER! Very friendly staff.
A small laudry with washing machine, dryer and iron on one of the floors, well equipped gym on another floor and I was a bit hesitant about a hotel with vending machines - but they were great, well stocked and very reasonably priced. Fabulous roof terrace. Convenient area, 10minute walk to train station and we walked to all of the tourist attractions from this hotel - even the Vatican ( albeit an hour's walk!). I would definatley recommend this very modern place.

Based on other Trip Advisor reviews, we selected this hotel for our stay in Rome. We were not disappointed. Everything was fabulous. The room was well appointed with everything you would possibly want or need. The staff was pleasant, efficient, helpful and welcoming. We scheduled a couple of day trips and had to leave before the breakfast room was open, so the hotel provided a bag breakfast for us to take on our tour. (We had breakfast included in our stay). The roof terrace was a lovely spot to enjoy in the early evening prior to dinner. The hotel is located in a great area and was near to various means of transportation. We also were close enough to walk to most of the sights in Rome. The rooms are air conditioned and this definitely was a plus during our stay. The hotel has some great vending machines which included snacks, beverages (beer, wine, soda, etc.), cups. The elevators are large by European standards and there are two of them. Important when it's breakfast time! Thank you iQ!

This is a different sort of hotel, very modern in its outlook.

The room was modern, clean and quiet. The air conditioning was also quiet and worked well even in the face of 37C degree heat outside.

Breakfast was good, with a small selection of hot food and a good selection of cold food. This is the only meal available (no lunch or dinner).

There was a bar in reception but nobody used this. There were, however, vending machines for snacks, cold and hot soft drink and alcoholic drinks including whole bottles of wine. This can be taken back to the room or consumed on the roof lounge which was popular espeically in the afternoon. The fridge in the room was not a mini-bar and unlike other hotels it was officially fine to store pretty much anything in it, including supermarket food.

There was also a vending machine for forgotten essentials, sowing kits etc. And there was a self-service laundry room with one washing machine, one dryer and an iron. (3 Euros to wash, including powder, 3 Euros to dry).

Wi-fi is available but there is also a business centre with several PCs and a printer and it was cheap to use (we were charged 2 Euros for quite a few minutes use booking museum tickets etc).

The reception staff were really helpful and polite.

If you want something quaint or romantic this is not for you. If you want something that is good value and functional this is fantastic. We normally go for character but we trtied that in Rome on another trip and were not impressed, but we were seriously impressed by this hotel with a modern outlook.

Walking distance to most of the major attractions. Extremely clean facility with staff that is very accommodating. Couldn't have been more pleased, and was actually pleasantly surprised what I received for my money. Don't pass up on the breakfast, as it was the best breakfast value I've had in the month I traveled France and Italy.
