The food was okay here. We ordered traditional spaghetti and gorgonzola gnocchi. The spaghetti was extremely spicy! I was not expecting the kick, only a nice tomoto sauce. The gnocchi was the only saving grace. It was creamy and delicious. The service was also okay. We had to flag down the waitress for everything. There was no coming by to check on our status. I guess we should have ordered the pizza as most of the other patrons were doing. It seemed to be very popular. I will have to remember that if I eat here again.

This restaurant is only a few yards from the Hotel Ivanhoe where we stayed and we ended up eating there on each of our five nights. It is always busy and they do take bookings but if you have to queue it's worth the wait!
It has a really great atmosphere with an extensive menu and really friendly staff. it is very good value for money and is definitely recommended.

After eating here at the recommendation of our hotel, we ended up eating here two more times. They are only open for dinner. The pizza was the thin crispy crust that was cooked in a wood burning oven. The pastas are delicious too. It is owned by two brothers and the rest of the staff seems to be family too. They are friendly, welcoming and the service was just right.

Local designer friend, having an atelier /showroom near by, recommend this as one possible option for dining. The area of Monti is not so extreme full of tourists and we supposed that this trattoria would be mostly for locals. It wasn´t.
This trattoria /pizzeria was full of tourists. I have nothing against tourists, also because of my similar status but it unfortunately is nearly always shown in everything and sadly also in the main thing, food.
Pasta Gorgonzola and Spaghetti Vongole were nearly OK as first courses. Pastas were cooked well. Bread was very good, after we asked politely to have some (should be always). Second meals didn´t went as well.
Maybe they all were only in a hurry because of Friday evening ? Still I would guess that the main and maybe only purpose might have been to collect money. You probably know the feeling and it can be also seen in many different ways.
We are always looking for, not necessarily expensive or cheap but real Italian cuisine, real Italian food, real Italian atmosphere and culture. This can be seen in different kind and different size and "status" of restaurants but here we couldn´t see or feel it.
I would think that many of the clients were satisfied and mostly because many of them probably have difficulties to value these kind of things or Italian food in generally, which is understandable.

This Trattoria was recommended by the manager of our accommodations in Rome. It was easy to find. We had a very good experience: There was one issue but it was fixed very effectively. The men started with a pizza which was excellent- thin crust, great toppings, very tasty. The ladies started with the bruschetta which was a large serving and very good. We went on to order a very rich pasta gorgonzola, which was very rich & flavourful , a very tasty seafood pasta and pasta carbonara. Unfortunately the carbonara was lukewarm at best. However when we informed the waiter it was quickly whisked away and came back 15 minutes later with a piping hot plate of pasta (made fresh rather than just heated in a microwave). In the mean time, the two who were sharing the carbonara had a very tasty veal dish. The house wine was Castelli Romani which we had not had in years but matched well with our meal & reasonably priced. Had we not found another restaurant that we liked a bit better, we would have returned again.
