The location is great and walking distance from via del Corso (shopping) and the famous spanish steps! Our stay was pleasurable, the hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and well organized.

The hotel is fantastically situated just off the Piazza del Popolo and a short walk to the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, etc. With no restaurant, bar or reception rooms, the hotel feels more like serviced apartments. The contempory-style rooms and suites are superbly furnished and well designed with really well thought out amenities including Nespresso coffee machines and choice of snacks so no problem with the lack of bar/reception. There are no menus but room service come very promptly on calling and breakfast is beautifully presented and excellent quality.

There is a twenty-four hour concierge on duty in reception. Those we came across were all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The staff are all very friendly, modest and charming throughout. The whole atmosphere is modern and chic.

The only challenge, no parking closeby so the nearest parking is in the public parking in Borghese if you arrive by car.

We just came back from spending New Years in Rome....Babuino 181 was a wonderful hotel experience, with extra accomodating conceirge...beautifully decorated rooms that are modeled like little pods, you've got huge closets to store your luggage, great desk area to enjoy their free wifi, wall mounted television screens that allow you to switch any channel into a different language, a small kitchenette area where they provided snacks, teas and a coffee/cappuccino maker..best of all...a HUGE bathroom. Every corner of the room was immaculate and perfect. The location is literally on Piazza del Popolo and down a few short blocks from the Spanish Steps. We are very hard to please travels from NYC, so we were interested in what the negative reviews were and I wanted to address them here now that we've had our stay. First, someone complained about the lighting, which was comical...the very large room is divided into sections quite nicely, so they provide lighting according to that area (there are seperate lighting tracks for the desk, so the person sleeping in the bed isn't bothered while you work, etc). Next, I rememember a noise complaint, we were on the First Floor, so we did occasionally hear a car honk but nothing truly disturbing, keeping in mind that you are visiting a city, not a quant farmhouse in the country. The only other negative review I read was about there being no room service, which is often the case with lovely boutique hotels..since we came to Rome to wander & eat, this wasn't a problem, there are many, many late night and early morning dining options less than 100 steps from the hotel (Canova, Babette's, another GREAT nearby eatery with a little cricket on the sign that the conceirge reccomended & even a little gelato shop) In short, after many, many hours of research, this was absolutely the best experience we've had at a European hotel. The conceirge was top notch, attractive and warm, the location made sightseeing very easy (steps from the Piazza, Spanish Steps & Villa Borghese) and the property itself was clean, well kept and tastefully decorated. We rarely stay in the same hotel twice, but I would be very hard pressed to try another while in Rome.

We arrived at this hotel for the first night of our honeymoon. After traveling for over 20 hours, we were certainly ready for a cozy place to rest in. What we found was beyond our best expectations.

We walked in to a bottle of champagne and a personal note, congratulating us on our wedding. This was unexpected and so fun!

The room itself was huge! The bed was amazingly comfortable, the view to the street fantastic, and the bathroom to die for. With a huge bathtub and a WONDERFUL shower (and shampoo/wash/lotion etc), we could not have been in a better place to rest up before hitting the town.

Upon leaving the hotel to explore for the first time, we were so pleased to see what a fabulous location we were in. Just steps from the (Spanish) steps and a couple blocks from great shopping and restaurants. We hardly had to rely on a map because the people working at the hotel were so wonderfully helpful.

We had the good fortune of staying in some nice hotels throughout our 2 week honeymoon and this one certainly stands out. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to be able to escape the craze of a big city while wanting to be able to jump right back in after a bit of rest.

The hotel is tiny and brand new, in a popular shopping street conveniently near one of Rome's few metro stations. The room was enormous for what we were expecting and the linens, amenities, furniture etc were of an incredibly high standard. (The bath was fantastic!) The staff were full of helpful suggestions regarding genuinely Roman eating options, which we loved. We got engaged on the 3rd day of our 4 day stay here and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to come home to.

The hotel is in a very good location for shopping, dining and commuting. In fact, after 4 full days in Rome, i would choose this hotel again just for the location.
Its 5 minutes walking from piazza de spagnia, metro station and less than 1 minute from piazza del popolo. So when you exit the hotel you are in the middle of all the "action".

The drawback is that its not a quiet street. Even with everything shut, the noise is too much for those that want a quiet sleep.

Rooms are great (we used the deluxe room which was 330EUR per night). The bathroom is one of the best i have ever seen. But the money is just too much.

Staff was very friendly and helpfull at all times and the over all impression was great.
