Well, they have a good location, near Pantheon, near the old town centre. And that`s all good we can say. The food there is terrible expensive and must say - it`s nothing special. We`d love to pay for a great service, delicious food, but we didn`t find anything from that in Taverna Antonina.
As a starter we ordered Insalata verde, when the waiter arrived to our table he accidentally tripped up and threw almost one third of our green salad on the floor. He went back to the kitchen, but we watched him carefully and saw him turning round at next corner and bringing us the same dish he took away from our table (such a poor trick!), so we ended up with a bowl shorten by one third of salad.
Food was nothing special - regular Calamari for 15,70 euro and glass of wine for 6 seems to expensive acoording to such ordinary taste. On our next trip, we`ll avoid this experience in Antonina for sure!

Strolling around Rome we found this restaurant and we were not disappointed. While the staff seems somewhat indifferent to random guests, the restaurant ambience is very pleasant. Recommended local specialty Pollo alla Romana and Saltimbocca alla Romana were very delicious. Wine from a bottle, you can not just take a glass so we drank opened house wine which is not to recommend.

Tucked away in a gap between two buildings, Antonina presents a lovely picture, especially as you don't expect to see it on this quiet street (which is, however, just off the Colonna, a major landmark on via del Corso and very near the Parliament building).
I would take issue with previous reviewers who complained about the service charge. All over Italy, whether it is explicitly shown on the bill or not, a service charge is included. So what counts is not whether there is a line saying Service Charge, but the bottom line cost. Considering its location, ambience, and good-quality, well-presented food, my bottom line cost was okay.
This is a nice place to take someone on a dinner date, or for an upscale lunch while shopping in this area.

We fell on it by chance while picking up souvenirs. Met at the door by the owner, wonderful woman who spoke english very well. Waiters & waitresses extremely friendly & curtious. We were traveling iwth a 2 year old, who was asleeping when we were eating. As soon as he awoke the owner brought a delicious minestrone for him. The tiramisu was amazing, portions were quite substantial, wine selection amazing. won't hesitate to go back on our next visit to Rome. Grazie a presto.
