We booked in the B&B after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed in the least. We cannot say enough nice things about Livio and Daniele. They were so wonderful and helpful and a real pleasure to be around (often our breakfasts lasted longer than usual because we just kept chatting with Livio!). They gave us maps, sold us tickets and gave us a million great tips on what to do/ see while in Rome. They also arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport which saved us a lot of headaches and time after a long overnight flight (getting picked up by a man in a really nice suit driving a new Mercedes was also a great way to start our trip!).

The location is great - down the street from St. Peters, and the subway is just a short walk away as well. The beds were comfy, the air conditioning in the room was quiet and very appreciated considering temperatures were in the high 30s everyday. The ensuite bathroom is modern and everything was very clean. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this B&B. It was one of the most memorable of our entire 2 week stay, and we will stay there again if ever we find ourselves back in Rome. Book early as word is spreading fast that this is such a great place to stay. If they are booked when you're coming - ask about their other B&B nearby- it looked just as lovely and I know they'd give you as much care there as they did with us at the View of Rome!

We stayed with Daniele & Livio for 4 nights in July 2010. I can't say enough nice things about the B&B and the guys. As soon as we arrived, Daniele made us a drink and walked us through everything we needed to know about Rome. How to get around, where to use the Roma pass to get best value for money, good places to eat (Da Baffetto pizzeria - awesome!). The view you see on the website is for real - we had a great view of St Peter's from our room. The B&B is perfectly placed right next to the Vatican, and with buses right outside you can get around Rome easily. Livio makes a great breakfast whenever you like (he didn't even complain when we asked for a 7am start one day!). The guys are really friendly, they can't do enough for you, and they run a fantastic, clean B&B. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome, and if you can't get in (they get booked up way in advance now the secret is out!), ask them about the new B&B they've just opened down the road. Thanks for a stay in Rome we will never forget!

Four of us stayed with Daniele and Livio and just loved it. They made us feel like family. The rooms are clean, bright, comfortable and the location was perfect! You really can see St. Peter's dome from our window. My only problem is that if we ever return to Rome we'll never be able to get a room with Daniele and Livio as they will likely be booked up. If you can't get in to "View of Rome" they have just opened another B&B which isn't far away so ask about that one. The Hop on Hop off Bus isn't far away and is a great starting point for your visit to Rome.

My husband and I stayed at the View of Rome mid July for 4 nights and our experience was absolutely magnificent! After our trip through Italy (Rome was our first stop then off to Florence and Venice...if we did it all over again we would definitely stay longer in ROME).
We were picked up at the airport by limo (Daniele suggestion which for the price you can't beat it! There was no way after an overnight flight we were going to try to find our way into the heart of Rome, and Taxi was about the same price so we went with the driver and it was wonderful). After we arrived 9:30am Daniele greeted us and immediately made us a cappuccino and sat down with us to plan out our stay there.
The B&B is nestled up on the sixth floor directly across from the Vatican and the pictures of the view truly are what you will take when you get into your room! The rooms are of nice size, very modern, and the bathroom is a modern European bathroom. As for the TV you get about 3 English channels, although by the time my husband and I got back from our adventures there wasn't much time before we were off into dream land. The only thing the B&B is missing is some sort of a clock for the rooms so you can set an alarm if you would like- we used our cell phones for the alarm but I was always nervous that we wouldn't get up and miss something!
Daniele & Livio's recommendations are priceless and you should listen to them because they truly do know the city and are looking out for you as well. They sell the ROMA pass right there at the B&B which was great (you spend 25 euro for the pass and get 25 worth of museums, we did Villa Borghese and the Coliseum, then you get 10-50% off other attractions as well as you get to ride public transportation bus/metro for free for three days) well worth the investment because you will get it back in no time at all. Daniele also hooked us up with a company to visit the Vatican so you don't have to wait in those crazy lines, and my husband and I wanted to do a day trip to Pompeii and Daniele was able to recommend a company that did tours and it was just what we were looking for. They even packed us a breakfast for the tour which was absolutely scrumptious...thanks Livio!
We truly cannot say enough about A VIEW OF ROME...it was heavenly and the best place that we stayed at during our trip through Italy. As for some eating recommendations while you are there....
You must have dinner at Osteria de Memmo I Santori which is just over the Umberton1 bridge (cross the street and look for the staircase on the left-hand side,,, go down the stairs and you will see a little alley and there will only be one restaurant sign and you will not want to go to Rome without stopping by Osteria de Memmo and you must have the Antipasti (13 euro a piece.... delicious)
If you happen to get sick of Italian cuisine and are a Chinese food lover you will want to go to the Chinese restaurants right on the corner from the B&B. We both had appetizers, rice, and main dish for fewer than 20 Euros all together!!! FRESH very fresh!
As for Gelato we had it at the place directly underneath the B&B and it was creamy and smooth, however Old Bridge galeteria is just to the right towards the Vatican and I must say that I had Gelato at least once if not twice a day from there!
THanks Daniele and Livo for the fabulouse service, wonderful converstions, and welcoming stay...you truly have a talent!!!!

We stayed five nights at A View of Rome in July, and the experience was marvelous. The room was modern, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and completely clean. The view of the Vatican dome from our window was spectacular, especially at night. The location was great and easily accessible by foot or Metro. But most important, Daniele and Livio made staying there like staying with personal friends. They epitomize perfect hospitality. They are warm, welcoming, and well informed about the city. They treated us like family, serving us not only delicious and special breakfasts made to order, but remembering what we like best each morning. And we loved that breakfast is served at the time you request, unlike anywhere else we stayed in Italy. We now regard Daniele and Livio as friends, and we are planning our next visit to their B&B as soon as we can get there. Can't recommend A View of Rome enough.

Not only did we enjoy the room, the service and the location, but we were amazed by the friendly owners, Danielle and Livio, who answered our inquiry by email and sent us helpful tips before we even got there! They manage the place so well and give you the best welcome ever, making you feel @ home. You will get free directions and tips on things to do and see and where to eat or shop, you name it! Glad we stayed there and will surely recommend the same to everyone who may want to stop by Rome!

This review is long overdue, however better late than never.

We had a fabolous time at A View of Rome. Even though it is not located right in the center of Rome you can get anywhere really easily. Service is great and Daniele and Livio always look out for you. They know Rome inside out and they aways give you great tips.

Out of experience I can tell you that the View is REAL. You can see the Vatican from your room. Guaranteed!!!

I trully recommend you to stay at a View of Rome (take it from someone that spends more than 100 nights/year at hotels).

Enjoy it!
