My husband and I stayed at this charming B&B as the first stop on our honeymoon in June. It was easy to book our stay directly through the website http://www.bbaviewofrome.it/sito/en/payments-penalty we simply sent an email requesting the room we wanted and we used Paypal to pay for the room deposit. From the very beginning the proprietors Livio and Daniele made things very simple for us. We exchanged a few friendly emails to confirm our booking and they offered to set up a transfer service from the airport directly to the B&B. We found the transfer service to be very convenient and money well spent. The airport is about 30 minuets drive from the city center or about 1 hour by train with all the intercity stops. The driver was waiting for us in the lobby when we arrived, we didn’t have to worry about finding the nearest train station or dragging our bags around. It made things simple and more enjoyable.
Prior to our arrival we requested an early check in and once again Livio and Daniele were very accommodating. When we arrived we were checked in right away and Livio helped us get acquainted with our room, and our surroundings. He provided a map and some suggestions on where to eat, and how to get around. As well as information on how to obtain a Roma Pass which is valid for unlimited public transportation and entrance into three historic sites or museums.
The B&B is small and cozy with only three or four rooms and a main lobby area. The rooms are simple but very comfortable and clean. Each room is equipped with a flat panel TV with satellite, WIFI access, small refrigerator, sound proof windows to eliminate street noise, and of course a million dollar view of Vatican City. The atmosphere is much like staying with close friends, Livio and Daniele are wonderful hosts, they will go to great lengths to make your stay in Roma feel like home. We were given a key to access the building at any time, so we didn’t have to feel constrained if we were out later in the evening. Livio and Daniele also own another B&B in the area called A Peace of Rome. More known for its modern decor than for the view, if that is something you are looking for it is worth checking out.
A View of Rome is centrally located within walking distance of many of Roma’s great tourist sites and a metro line and bus stops are also nearby. This area of the city has a great cultural vibe with fantastic shopping, markets, restaurants and a gelato shop just around the corner! What more could you ask for?
When we find ourselves in Rome again we would be delighted to stay at A View of Rome.
