Because we only had one day to spend in Rome and because I have a bad knee which makes it difficult for me to walk for long periods, my husband found easitalytours on line and booked a private tour for us.
We were picked up at our hotel right on time and driven by Max Rocca in a very comfortable Mercedes while the frenetic Rome traffic buzzed around us. We were immediately at ease with Max who speaks excellent English. He was able to tell us about the areas we drove through and had an iPad to help illustrate some of the architectural features and unusual details of a lot of the sites we visited. The highlights of our tour were the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Forum, the Colleseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Catacombs and the Appian Way. In each place we were given a reasonable amount of time to explore the area on our own.
Max also took us to Sora Rosa restaurant near the Appian Way for a delightful lunch in the garden. All in all, it was a very good day and a great way to get an overview of Rome when time is short. I would highly recommend easitalytours.
