“Best meal in all of Italy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

Hands down best meal we had in Italy. Reservations are a must as this is a very small family run establishment. The chef walks around talking to diners and recommending his best dishes of the day. The young lady who waited on us was terrific. She was a native of the Philippines and spoke perfect English. Her wine recommendation was the perfect accompaniment. We began of meal with the Carpaccio seafood Mista, composed of salmon, swordfish, calamari and roe stacked and accompanied by a spectacular olive oil. Next we had the award winning Tagtielle with black truffles. Best dish in all of Italy. The next course was sea bass with white truffles. He works magic with Tartuffo. The chef recommended for dessert the cheese cake with local cherries that his mother had prepared that morning. Go here, linger over each course and follow the lead of the chef. You will not regret it.

I messed up and booked for the wrong day but they managed to fit us in anyway and were very nice about it. Restaurant was very busy and they must have turned away 15-20 people throughout the night but never made us feel rushed. Food and atmosphere both really good. Aubergene with parmasan starter was really good as was the truffle lasagne. Service very good and lots of helpful suggestions. They made you feel very welcome. Best meal we had in Rome

“Great food”

This place gets full real fast, so either get there early or book a table. We had a lovely dinner there, I had the shrimp pasta which was excellent, and my partner had the pasta with truffels which too was amazing.

With only 2 days in Rome and thousands of restaurants from which to choose, I spent hours reading reviews before deciding on this one, based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

I had the porcini truffle lasagna, which wasn't bad. A bit mushy, and very rich. My mixed salad was a small bowl of a few leaves of romaine, a few cherry tomatoes, and shredded carrots from a super market bag. My companion had the classic lasagna, which he said tasted like a frozen entree, and beef filet, which he ordered med well, but it came out med rare, at best. The Pinot Grigio by the glass was Santa Margherita- one I like, but easily available in the States. Not a memorable meal. Service was a bit rushed.

We regret that you have enjoyed our meal, is the exception that proves the rule.
We can say that our lasagna is prepared by our chefs every day and we never used frozen lasagna.
If customers believe that the Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is too common for them in our wine list we have the most important Pinot Grigio ...... it is sufficient to order.

“The best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

We went there (with reservation) on my birthday and it was the best! We followed the advice of Lizzy (really friendly waitress) and ordered the 3 starters and other courses from the suggestions, and it was all delicious! Also the wine she suggested was great. The best Italian food we had on our trip.
