We were told that this place had been rated #1 for Carbonara for several years in a row so we decided that we needed to give it a try. We could not find the hours for the place so we had our hotel call to make a reservation. I REALLY recommend reservations. We were there on a Friday night and it was PACKED. Not with tourists, but with Italians. And it's right next door to a police station so I'm sure they help keep it busy as well. By the way, the hours are: Lunch 1200 - 1430 and dinner from 1930-????
Andrea was our server and he was fantastic. No problem communicating with him at all and he had excellent recommendations. Total bill came to €78,50. That included service charge of €4,00 for 2, one bottle of still water, their sampler appetizer which had lots of little dishes to sample that was €20,00 (most expensive appetizer that they had but absolutely delicious), 2 plates of Carbonara that were out of this world, 1 bottle of wine that was €25,00 and 1 dessert (zuccotto) which Andrea recommended that was €7,00.
Everything was absolutely wonderful! The food did NOT disappoint, and my husband LOVED the dessert (I'm not much of a dessert person). We are looking forward to returning here on our next visit to Rome. Thank you Andrea for a terrific evening!
