“Great 5 star hotel and facility, customer service is 4 star, good location”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We traveled as a couple with our parents and spent 3 nights there in mid-April.
The rate was around 450 Euro per night, before tax. Too expensive and it did not transform to a total 5 star experience.

Pros:
New facility, great hotel, clean, 5 star, no doubt. Nice and quiet room.
Fancy SPA and gym. Pool is too small for swimming but good enough as a SPA.
Top notch buffet breakfast, good quality of food and good service there most of the time.
Very friendly staff with good English.

Cons:
Even though the staff was well-trained and polite most of the time. There were still times and personnel showing the impatience of explaining things to the hotel guests, especially at the Concierge, where most of the tourists would ask for detailed information.

PS. I figured that overall the customer service in Italy is just at a different level. It is hard to compare it with the U.S., Spain, or any other developed countries. Actually it is not even close to some "emerging countries" like Taiwan or Portugal. I have heard some saying that customers are not kings in Italy. Very true.

The Jumeira Grand hotel on via Veneto more than lived up to expectations.

The rooms are really well appointed, comfortable and tranquil. The staff were all very friendly and really helpful. The service and quality of everything was excellent. No complaints at all. It was a real haven in what is an extremely busy city.

I would happily stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for one week during last April, 2013. I always choose this area when visiting Rome, but had never been at this hotel. It was great. The staff was absolutely efficient and kind. They helped me solving several working issues at most unexpected hours and always with a smile and real will to help. I choose a room overlooking Via Veneto, which proved to be a good decision. Rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Definitely the best option in Rome.

Room Tip: Don't miss a visit to the Acqua Spa, in the hotel lower ground floor. Unforgettable!

This was a nice hotel with deluxe accomidations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked the location near the Borghese Gardens. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I wish we had had more time to use the pool amid spa.

We spent four nights between Christmas and New Years last year at the Grand Hotel Via Veneto. It's highly luxurious in an understated way, and the service is excellent - especially the porters and doormen. The furniture in the lobby is in beautiful and tasteful art deco design. Our room faced into the inner courtyard and you could see into the other rooms so we mostly kept the curtains closed. Next time I'd ask for a street facing view. Complimentary water, chocolates and a bag of biscotti cookies was a nice touch. The bathrooms are big and gorgeous - all white marble and dark wood. The Bulgari toiletries are also really nice.

The breakfast buffet was good and had a big selection, although my husband grumbled that the eggs were too watery and the bacon undercooked. It was often very busy during breakfasts and the manager was there everyday and made a big effort helping out and making sure guests were happy.

The location is perfect as you can walk to most of the major sights from here. We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a street facing room.

From check in to check out we felt cosseted in luxury. We were upgraded to an amazing corner suite complete with fruit, chocolates and bubbles. We loved the style of the hotel (art deco) the furniture and decor was sumptuous and glamourously and on scale to the large rooms in both the public spaces and the rooms. We found that the size and glamour of the rooms almost inhibited us from exploring Rome itself, it really was a wrench to leave such special accommodation! We also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, excellent staff, delicious food and wine, the sommelier was great at his job and the bar was great for cocktails.
Yes room service was expensive and the buffet breakfast wasn't fantastic (room service breakfast much better and you get to eat in your robe!) but this place isn't cheap - everything cones with all the trimmings - freshly made falafel and arranchini with cocktails for example.

Personally I'm hoping for a lotto win so I can move into a penthouse suite in this marvellous hotel in a beautiful street in an amazing city.
