We go to rome around 2012/08/15~08/17 and stay in B&B Gli Scipioni.
At our first time to Rome, the host introduce every detail of Rome for us.
The host, David was so nice and a great photographer.
There are a lot of nice shot of Rome made by him was displayed in the B&B.
The room was comfortable and clean and there are a lot of food free for us during the stay.
We stay in Italy for 13 day in different 4 B&B or hotel.
I like the B&B Gli Scipioni most.

When we left Rome, I am so stupid to left my credit cad in the same of room.
After one call to David, the credit cards were safely sent to our next destination without any charge of postage.
You should choose B&B Gli Scipion without any concern.
:) Ciao David. Grazie!!!

We visited Rome back in May, stayed at B&B Gil Scipioni for 5 nights. Everything was wonderful!! David was extremely helpful, and offered GREAT recommendations - he truly cares about your experience in Rome. We enjoyed the location, close to the Vatican, Castel de Sant'Angelo. It’s a really nice neighborhood with lots of yummy restaurants, and a few cool bars. Be sure to visit our friend Adriano at the Ris Café for a delicious cocktail! We most definitely will return and look forward to staying at B&B Gil Scipioni again! Thanks David! Kelly & Pat

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here earlier this week. Air-conditioned and very clean and comfortable - everything we could have needed was provided. Lots of goodies for making our breakfast in the kitchen too. The location was great, very close to St Peter's Square and the Vatican, with the Metro to get elsewhere just round the corner. We ate very well in a couple of trattorias literally outside our front door. David was on holiday, but his stand-in, Henry, was extremely helpful.

We had a pleasant stay at this Small (3 rooms?) bb with relatively good location near the Vatican. Place is obviously recently build/renovated and well maintained. Rooms are quite basic but very nicley decorated. Only complaint would be the aircon that was somewhat noisy.

Self service breakfast is included which you can prepare in the common kitchen.

There's no reception so you need to agree in advance when you are arroving and give the them a call once you're there.

Hej Mikko,
Kiitos for the review!
Sorry about the noisy aircon but you must have had it on the maximum turbo setting which cools the room down quickly. The aircon does have a silent mode switch which takes slightly bit longer to cool the room but is far less noisy.

David is very friendly and passioned I could say with his B&B. He was explained us about facilities and the city for about 40 minutes!! From all his directions and advises I would keep the instuction for the air-condition and the satellite-tv. I could not vote for his suggestion for food nearby which at least in our case was not successful ones. I am talking about the small restaurant opposite the room where the food was of low quality and not so cheap as David mentioned..
We stayed two nights at Gli Scipioni and we are happy for our choice. Many choices for breakfast even though more 'plastic' food which certainly could be improved!!
David, thank you for your hospitality and the warming welcome!!
Certainly a nice choice for Rome in reasonable prices.
All the best,
Dimitris

Yassou Dimitris,
Thank you for your review!
Glad to hear overall you enjoyed your time in Rome at our b&b.
Sorry to hear you did not like the restaurant opposite which has nothing to do with us. However many of our other guests in the past have left quite a few positive comments about the restaurant for simple Italian cuisine at a reasonable price.
Sorry but we do not feed our guests 'plastic food'!!! All the products we supply are freshly purchased daily and many of our guests have left positive comments about the variety and selection that we provide.

Had a wonderful time here. The location is great, very close to the Metro and a short walk to St Peter's Square/Vatican- other sites are within walking distance. Rooms are lovely and well maintained. Kitchen is crammed with options for breakfast (this worked out really well). David was a joy to deal with, giving us plenty of tips and advice, helping us to plan our days. We travelled with our two girls 10 & 12 who loved staying there (and David's knowledge of the best gelato spots!)

Our advice for Rome is to get up and out early before the heat and the bus loads... Rome seems a different place early on, Gli Scipioni is perfect for doing this, with no set breakfast time and it's great location.

Staying at David's Gli Scipioni played a big part in our wonderful experience of Rome and we will certainly be back.

We stayed four nights at this B&B. Everything was clean and modern with all the amenities you would need. the location was easy to find and barely a block and half from the Octaviano Metro station. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet David who was away but he was tremendously efficient with the reservations and any questions that we had regarding anything to do with Italy prior to and even during his holidays. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and the beds were made. The B&B is located in an apartment building so you almost felt like a local with your own place in Rome. The fridge and cupboards were well stock, almost too well stocked as I never knew what to try. There were ice cream bars in the freezer and large water bottles for the guests. It was also nice to have your own fridge in your room as we came home with leftover pizza and ate it the next day. The restaurant across the street is amazing and so reasonably priced.
It was close to the Metro and once you figured out the buses to the major points of interest it was super esy to get around. We had the Roma Pass which made public transport accessible to us for the full three days we were there. We knew that we would be having early mornings to avoid the heat of the day so wanted to be close to the Vatican which we knew was an early start plus the Metro for access to the Colosseo station.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice location not on a major street but accessible to everything.
