“Tre R was perfect for us!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2010

Given my wife and my personalities, Tre R was absolutely the perfect choice. Despite the fact that the outside of the apartment building where the B&B is located looks a little run down, the actual B&B is spotless, classy and very comfortable. Andrea, the owner, met us when we arrived and gave us maps and info on getting into the center of Rome (a few options, all about 10 minutes and very convenient). After meeting us, he left and we never saw him again. This was great for us as we set out on our own to discover the city (and it felt like we had our own private apartment), but if you're looking for accommodation that will be at your service 24 hours a day, this one is probably not for you (although Andrea was always available by phone if necessary). The area is quiet and away from the tourist frenzy, which was also very nice. The first night we went to a restaurant about a km from the B&B (at Andrea's recommendation). Only one waiter barely spoke English and it was a great, genuine Italian experience that seems much harder to find downtown. Overall, a great place to stay!

Rome was fabulous, but the most difficult part of organising a trip was finding accommodation that was sensibly priced, clean and well positioned. Tre R turned out to be an inspired choice! The location is a ten minute (one euro) bus ride into the centre of Rome - bus stop closeby and no need for taxis - and because of this, it’s quieter and prices in the bar and restaurant we used much more realistic. The rooms are on the first floor of an apartment building - spotless and a good size. Andrea, the manager, is extremely helpful and provided maps, information and was happy for us to ring him if there we needed further help. On arrival, we weren’t sure we’d made the right choice, as outside of the centre of Rome graffiti is everywhere, including this area, but Tre R, Bar Bompiani and the local pizzaria were great places to stay, drink and eat amongst friendly, helpful people with no other English voices to bother us - a real Italian experience.
If we go to Rome again, we’d have no hesitation in staying at Tre R again.
