Il Ponentino has everything you look for in a cheap Trastevere pizza place: good housewine, good pizza, great service (our blonde waitress was incredibly friendly, funny, and hard working), and a hands-on manager who missed nothing (he even pulled up an extra peripheral table for people who had been waiting for a while). The food is simply good. Sure, the pizza's won't blow your mind, but for ? 4 - 6, you cannot expect gourmet stuff. The crust was great, the ingredients fresh, and sitting outside on a patio in Trastevere with tourists and Italians alike is a great experience. We initially sat down for a quick drink, but ended up staying for 4 hours (having two pizza's, a cheese platter of some great Italian cheeses, and 2 liters of wine.. for 26 Euro). Maybe we were lucky with our waitress, our table, or our fellow guests, but we had a great time!

The place was very cozy. The rest manager was our personal waiter, this was beacuse we are puertorricans and he's Cuban. Always he want us to have the best experience at Rome. We was a little bit undecided in what to order. This was our fist dinner at Rome. For this reason he alway bring us a specil platter. He offer us some small ball filled with "tartufo", we ask him about the flavor and he only told us try them you would enjoy theme, and thats how it was. That apptizer was different and really nice to have. When was the time to order the main plate , he just bring us 3 different pastas. All of them were delicious. Then we want to have some dessert , but we where very undecide and for 3rd time he just surprise us with a platte witha variety of desserts : turamisu, brownie, frogala, and lemon cake. And to finished we enjoy a lemonchelo. I have the best service experience at this cozy place, because the manager was always cheking on us , very attentive, polite on our Rome trip we never experience this type of service. He make us love Trastevere :)

Traveling from Australia for our honey moon, the menu looked great but sadly that was all it had going for place. The waiter was the rudest I have ever had. Very unhelpful which we thought was due to us speaking only English. Got our order wrong of course. Re-ordered and it was wrong again. Food was average. Previous comments are spot on. Be very very sure you want to eat here.

English menu is offered. The waiter can speak English, but is impatient. We ordered an antipasto (grilled vegetable), spaghetti, and fried seafood (but only fish on the dish). The antipasto and fried fish was ok. But the smell of spaghetti was full with onion which I do not like. The house wine was just alcohol, and it was the most terrible one that I had drunk in Italy.
