“Not anything like their website”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

My partner is currently staying at this hotel on business. Rooms are very small. Can't open window due to the smell of Chinese restaurant downstairs. Air conditioning did not work first night. Very small breakfast room and very basic breakfast. Stale bread roll, small piece of cheese, juice and Coffee. Hotel is split between 2 buildings and breakfast is in other building. The only good thing is that it's very central. Defiantly would not stay there again

This was part of a school-based package, so I'm not sure what the nightly rate was, but anything more than $50-60 euro would be pushing it. The room was extremely small, reasonably clean but really nothing special (e.g., a U.S. Ramada or Best Western has nicer decor).
The elevator is cramped and scary-old, so you're probably best off lugging your luggage up the stairs.
The front desk is friendly - but they're in another hotel around the block! That's also where the computer is. You can use it for 5 or 10 minutes, but more than that they'll want you to buy an access card.
The room air conditioner was tricky to work but it worked. The TV was small and got just a few channels. Our room had a little fridge and a safe, which was a nice touch.
No clock or radio in the room, so if you want to get up early, you're reliant on a wake-up call (which was reliable).
The beds were decent, though halfway through our stay, housekeeping moved the beds apart and put a nightstand between them (we're a married couple...what the heck were they thinking?).
Nice enough shower, though the tile floor was VERY slippery without a small bath mat - which we had for one night, and then it disappeared.
All in all, it was nice after a day in sunny, humid Italy to come back to a quickly cooled-down room, but apart from being across the street from the metro (and a small supermarket), I can't think of anything else to recommend Ciao over other places in its two-star class. I really have to wonder how much of our overall tour $ went to this hotel...
