We stayed in Aventino Guest House the 17th to the 22nd of May and was a good overall experience. Traveling with an infant is not easy but the staff, specially Paul, were very accommodating and helpful.

Accommodations:
The guest house has 4 rooms each one with it's private bathroom, A/C and free wired/wireless Internet, our was room #4. We requested a baby cot/crib and was installed and ready when we got to our room. Although the staff is available only from 3pm to 7pm they waited for us when we arrived around 11pm. Beds are comfortable and room space is very good. My only complaint would be the need for a phone either in the room or in the common area. There is no phone other than the staff's office. Free snacks, coffee, drinks and more are provided 24/7 in the common area. Our room had a small fridge which the staff stocked with snacks and water.

Surroundings:
AGH is located right on Viale Aventino, right next to the building is a supermarket, a pharmacy nearby nearby and many cafes and gelaterias around, VERY convenient. Public transport is available right in Viale Aventino. A 5 minute walk (north) to Circo Massimo metro station and a 2 minute walk to a Taxi stand (south in front of the BNL Banca). From AGH to the Colosseum it will take you 10-15 minutes walking.

Overall:
Good location, comfortable rooms, free snacks, free wifi; we looked at tons of other hotels and b&b and AGH fit the bill perfectly. Would I stay in AGH again? YES definitely.

Room Tip: If you have any questions contact the staff, they were very helpful and answered all our questions b...

Hi everyone, I`ve just returned from a wonderful one week stay at the Aventino Guest house and here is my review. As some of you may know Rome has some outrageously priced hotels. I choose this place based on the price and location, I stayed at the Aventino from April 21st to the 29th for a total of 770 Euros, this was not peak season. For those of you that know Rome this guest house is located within a two minute walk to the Circo Massimo Metro Station and a ten minute walk to the Coliseum. This guest house is on Aventino Blvd and it only has four rooms, all rooms have private washrooms and they are all tastefully decorated. There is a common breakfast area that has an automatic coffee machine that makes a variety of brews. You make your own breakfast, you will find juices, milk, cheese, sliced meats, and fresh fruits and more. There is also a terrace out front with a few tables if you prefer eating outside. My room was room number 1 and it gave out on the back side away from the street. My room had a king size bed with decent linens, there was a rather large flat screen TV, fridge, safe, and a silent air conditioner that worked fabulously. The bathroom was quite large and tiled with a shower area with multi adjustable jets, heated towel rack, bidet and blow-dryer. Water pressure was good and the area was very clean. When I arrive I meet Valeria who is one of the two girls who run this Inn, she spoke perfect English and was full of information and very interesting to talk to. When she gave me the keys I was surprised, so many keys, there was an automatic gate key, then a courtyard key followed by a front door key and finally my room key. I definitely felt safe! Parking can be difficult in Rome even with a Smart car due to small streets and many parking restrictions, note that if you are driving this is a good area to find parking, Aventino is a large boulevard separated in the middle for buses and taxis and you can park on both sides of the street going either way. There is a handy grocery store next door (Emma Pui) that is fully stocked. This place is more like living in a house opposed to being in a hotel. I liked my stay at the Aventino and I recommended it, it might not be the perfect place for light sleepers since it`s on a busy boulevard, but it is in a safe area easy to get around and you are definitely getting a good dollar value.

We recently spent a week at this wonderful house tucked into a neighborhood between the Colosseum and the Pyramid. We have been to Rome before and I have stayed at elaborate hotels and smaller ones but this one was the best. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was very convenient to the Metro. We walked the wide shady sidewalks, ate at the outdoor restuarants, shopped at the nearby grocery and explored the city and day trips from the train terminal. I would recommend this accomodations to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the first floor

First the bad, I know that's what everyone reads first: the beds are super-stiff, and the front desk is only staffed a few hours per day.

Now the good:
* location. Quick access to metro, and busses going to areas the metro doesn't. The UN building is nearby, so the neighborhood is residential but speaks English.
* staff, when available is very helpful and keeps the rooms neat
* rooms are large, good bathroom, free safe and internet
* very secure residence. 3 keys and an automatic gate.

Our stay here was excellent. We were met by Valaria, who really helpped us plan our activities, and provided us a few helpful hints on getting around Rome. The location is good, either walking distance or a quick cab ride anywhere. Also right next to the metro. The only thing that could be approved upon is the breakfast.

We found this guest house on the internet as we were looking for a nice place within a certain budget.
Hotels in Rome can be very expensive and Rome is a place where you are out sightseeing most of the time.
The guesthouse has 4 rooms only, all in very modern style, spacious, clean with a big LCD television on the wall. Our room had a brand new bathroom with a hydroamssage shower. There is a communal area for breakfast or where you can help yourself to snacks and drinks throughout the day. We had problems two mornings in a row with the coffee macchine, only hot water would come out of the machine and there were no "normal" teabags and so we couldn't even have a tea. On both occasions we had to go to the bar, just down the road to get coffees (which meant getting ready quickly and having to rush). I must say that this was the only negative thing about the guest house as they were experiencing some faults with the machine those days.
There is no reception as such but on the day of our arrival we were greeted by Valeria, who was really lovely and gave us some valuable advice and tips (which were much appreciated).
The location is really terrific as you can walk to most places by foot. There is also the metro just 2 minutes down the road. Even though the guest house is on a busy road and our room onlooked it we didn't have any problems with noise from traffic etc and were able to sleep without any problems. Another positive point is that it's on the gound floor and so need for lifts and it's easy to get heavy luggage in and out.
We would highl recommend this place to someone who's not looking for a real hotel deal (with all the frills and amentities such a laundry, restaurant etc), likes being independent and who also wants to be near the main sights. For Euro 90 per night, we wound definitely go back!!!
