Hi everyone, I`ve just returned from a wonderful one week stay at the Aventino Guest house and here is my review. As some of you may know Rome has some outrageously priced hotels. I choose this place based on the price and location, I stayed at the Aventino from April 21st to the 29th for a total of 770 Euros, this was not peak season. For those of you that know Rome this guest house is located within a two minute walk to the Circo Massimo Metro Station and a ten minute walk to the Coliseum. This guest house is on Aventino Blvd and it only has four rooms, all rooms have private washrooms and they are all tastefully decorated. There is a common breakfast area that has an automatic coffee machine that makes a variety of brews. You make your own breakfast, you will find juices, milk, cheese, sliced meats, and fresh fruits and more. There is also a terrace out front with a few tables if you prefer eating outside. My room was room number 1 and it gave out on the back side away from the street. My room had a king size bed with decent linens, there was a rather large flat screen TV, fridge, safe, and a silent air conditioner that worked fabulously. The bathroom was quite large and tiled with a shower area with multi adjustable jets, heated towel rack, bidet and blow-dryer. Water pressure was good and the area was very clean. When I arrive I meet Valeria who is one of the two girls who run this Inn, she spoke perfect English and was full of information and very interesting to talk to. When she gave me the keys I was surprised, so many keys, there was an automatic gate key, then a courtyard key followed by a front door key and finally my room key. I definitely felt safe! Parking can be difficult in Rome even with a Smart car due to small streets and many parking restrictions, note that if you are driving this is a good area to find parking, Aventino is a large boulevard separated in the middle for buses and taxis and you can park on both sides of the street going either way. There is a handy grocery store next door (Emma Pui) that is fully stocked. This place is more like living in a house opposed to being in a hotel. I liked my stay at the Aventino and I recommended it, it might not be the perfect place for light sleepers since it`s on a busy boulevard, but it is in a safe area easy to get around and you are definitely getting a good dollar value.
