“Awful experience, worst rip off in a restaurant ever”
Reviewed July 13, 2010

Walking by, late at night, hungry, it looked very quaint, just decided to try it with no review or travel guide recommendations. Big mistake. One meal was lasagna, that was still frozen in centre, but had been microwaved enough to dry out one corner. We sent it back and got this disgusting ravioli Bolognese, again obviously just heated up. The other meal was Veal cooked then reheated, which had a dried out texture almost enough to give you splinters. With two glasses of house red and this bad experience they still charged us 40 Euros. I spoke to them about it and they did not care in the slightest and would not do anything in compensation. An absolute rip off. Decent restaurants are very close, go elsewhere. I think the best advice if you don't have a specific recommendation is to look for a restaurant filled with locals

“A fabulous meal.”
Reviewed March 15, 2009

A memorable experience and well priced. A gem that is patronized by the locals for lunch is tucked away near Piazza Navona. We had a lovely meal and the quality of the food & the wine was exceptional!!
A must for elegance and good food! Perfect for lunch.

“Eating traditional Roman food in Rome”
Reviewed March 12, 2008

On our most recent trip to Rome, we were so overbowled by a local restaurant that I wanted to write and share it with those readers who now find the restaurants of Via di Seminavio overpriced and their staff tourist weary.

In a city with so many placs to eat it can be a daunting task choosing somewhere that will meet your expectations. We found a wonderful restaurant between Piazza Navona and the Pantheon with a speciality of roman food which was by far the best Italian food we had tried.

The restaurant was intimate and relaxed, and the staff were very helpful offering recommendations of dishes and wine and the price so reasonable that it made this trip to Rome exceptional. We finished on a complete high having discovered for ourselves one of Rome's gems. It is well worth seeking out. We ate out at the Osteria, but they also have Papa Giovanni's just around the corner which is for fine dining.
