“Good restaurant for pasta”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

We accidentally saw this place and it was seen decent enough to have dinner. We try to avoid too touristy restaurant as we were near the trevi fountain. The price is average, not too touristy. Around 8-10 euro for pasta.

We asked the guy to suggest what the speciality of the house was. He recommended few options which I ended up choosing "Pasta Alla Olimpio"; came with ham, mushroom, and cream sauce.

It came quite fast. From the look, it was good, like home ,made pasta. From the aroma, it smells good. The taste was very good. The best cream pasta I had tasted so far.

We also tried artichoke ala Romano. It was good also and cheap -4 euro.

In total we spend 35euro for 2 great pastas, 1 artichoke, 1 small jug of wine, and 1small jug of tap water.

I think it was decent local restaurant with acceptable price. For those who expect luxurious fine dining, don't come here then complain about the ambience while you pay this rate.

“A local trattoria near Trevi Fountain”
Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

This was a good find near our hotel. We ordered two pasta dishes and a liter of wine for 32€. This price included bread basket and water poured from a faucet but this is Rome literally nothing is free. Good price for the area. Menus are clearly printed in several languages. Also included in our bill is the 10% service charge.

“Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant by the Hotel de Petris where we were staying. Having compared it with several other nearby restaurants, we decided to try it. We did not regret it!

It is slightly off the tourist trail near the Trevi fountain - and it is amazing what a difference it makes to the prices to be the wrong side of the road to the main tourist route. Meals were a good few euros cheaper here as a result, and unlike the other restaurants, Olimpio does not employ anyone to stand outside and hassle passers-by!
It is a small restaurant which looks to be family run/owned. The food was delicious, service was excellent - and the menu is available in several different languages, so it didn't matter that our Italian is poor.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, good quality Italian meal at reasonable prices.

“Great service!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

We stumbled upon this after visiting Trevi fountain. Our mission was pizza, so that's what we ordered. Prices were fair considering it is in Rome. The waiters and staff were all very friendly and attentive. Where did they get the multi- linguist Asian waiter? He was great!
Our individual pizzas were large, hot and fresh tasting. But fantastic tasting. My husbands Gorgonzola pizza had like three dime sized specks of Gorgonzola on it and that was it.....kind of disappointing after a pizza elsewhere the night before was loaded with it.
We would probably go again, but have some of the pastas other reviewers enjoyed.
