We stayed at Frank's house twice while in Italy. The first time was for 5 nights in the room with the ensuite bath and terrace. The room was exactly as described and very comfortable. The apartment is within walking distance to all of the major sites in Rome, close to Termini and to the Metro line. It was nice coming home to Frank's apartment after long days sightseeing. When we first arrived we rang the bell to Frank's but no one responded. The door was open so we walked up to knock on the door, again no response. Coming back down the stairs we actually ran into Frank as he was having his morning coffee (he lives on another floor) which was really fortunate as we didn't have a phone to call the guesthouse or internet to email. (Side note: spring for a sim card. I would if I had it to do again) Frank took us up to the guest house and spent half an hour or so showing us interesting places on the map, places to eat, etc. He had some great restaurant recommendations but one of our favorite spots right around the corner was actually Tempio di Mecenate. It was really helpful to have Frank sit down with us and go over the map. Frank was super responsive anytime we needed him during our stay. He will call and make dinner or gallery reservations. He really was a fabulous host. When we came back through Rome to catch a flight back to the states we stayed one night in another room that's actually part of Frank's apartment. The room was nice. Note that there is no TV in that room but we didn't need it anyway. The bath for this room was in the hall but that wasn't a problem either. I think I actually liked this bathroom better but really enjoyed the terrace with the other room. All in all it was a great experience. We did have the same issue with the bell and not being able to get in (a neighbor let us in the second time) when we came back through Rome. Again we went up to Frank's and he checked us in, but other than that no real issues. Thanks again for a fantastic stay Frank!
