“Amazing luxury and service”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to leave. We stayed in the rooftop suite which was pure luxury with amazing space. Teodora on the front desk was beyond helpful and couldn't do more to help with recommendations to restaurants and friendly chat. We would not stay anywhere else when we return.

We arrived to Mario De Fiori with high expectations after reading all the great recommendations. It is not a big hotel but part of a 3 tiny hotels in rome from the Luxurysuites group .
The room leaved up to all our expectations. We booked an executive room. Although is is the simplest room in this boutique hotel, there was nothing simple in this room. For Rome standards it was a huge room it was beautifully decorated, and had great coffee machine that spread nice smell in the room. The shower was one of the best with excellent soaps and shampoos. The windows were of the best quality- once closed we never heard there was a lively street beneath us.
Service was great. We got excellent recommendation for breakfast, dinner and touring option both before our arrival, and during our stay.
The location was unbelievable. Just 2 minutes walk from the Spanish steps, 10 minutes from Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

we will definately coose Mario de fiori on our next visit to Rome.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in April and thoroughly enjoyed it.The photos do do this hotel justice, the position is perfect and as the other reviews say, having the Nespresso machine in the room is great. As are the staff who were very helpful both before our trip and during. The only negative was that we had breakfast in our room for the first 2 days and it wasn't really worth it except for the convenience for our early starts before tours. On our last day we went to their sister hotel's roof terrace for breakfast and that was lovely.

Room Tip: Because of proximity to busy and popular Via Corsa, you are always going to have some noise so rooms...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of March and our stay was fantastic! The location is just perfect... the hotel is literally like a 1-2 minute walk from the Spanish Steps. A metro stop is located at the Spanish Steps, along with a cab stand, so there are a lot of options for getting around! We loved being near the Spanish Steps... it's a really neat area. There is upscale shopping just outside the door, along with tons of restaurants, gelato (!), coffee shops, etc. Trevi Fountain was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The Pantheon was walking distance too. We even walked back from the Vatican to the hotel one night!
We booked our hotel 4-5 months in advance and I was so surprised to see a welcome note along with restaurant recommendations in my inbox that very same day! I've never had a hotel do anything like that so I was very impressed even before I got there!
Most of the staff speaks very good English, especially the staff working during the day, when you'll have the most questions. We asked for water one night and were given the bottle, which was nice.
The room was great... so unique and so much character! Our room was on the top floor and probably had like 5 windows/doors. It was fun trying to open and close them all! Right when we got to our room, after a looong night and day of travel from Texas, we opened our windows and relaxed for a few minutes... I don't think I'll ever forget the sounds coming from the street (via Mario de Fiori) - Italian music, hustle & bustle, people chatting in Italian. It was just the perfect welcome to Italy! Speaking of the windows, they have both shutters on the outside and panes on the inside. I think the hotel staff closed the shutters each night and we never heard any street noise while sleeping. The bathrooms were very nice and the room was very clean (a requirement for me). There is an in-room safe and the blowdryer was actually our nicest one in all of Italy! It's actually a normal blowdryer - not one that's attached to the wall. There's a safe in the room. We even had fresh flowers in the room! The bed is very firm... almost to a fault if you like a soft bed, so know that! According to other reviewers, the staff will find extra pillows and blankets if you need a softer bed... we never asked as it wasn't a big issue. The elevator was so tiny it was almost comical. I refused to ride in it but it did come in handy upon checkout - we put our suitcases in and sent it down to the first floor, where we were waiting for them. :)
Overall, this was such a great hotel and I can't recommend it enough. It's not your typical hotel so don't expect that. There wasn't an in-house restaurant but we preferred to eat out in Rome anyhow. If you need all of the amenities of a big hotel (gym, pool, restaurant), then stay at a big hotel. If you want a boutique hotel with great staff and rooms, don't hesitate to book here! If we ever get back to Rome (and I hope we do), I'd love to stay here again!

Room Tip: We liked overlooking Via Mario de Fiori. We were in Suite 6 and really liked the room!

My husband and I spent three nights here this March. The staff was welcoming and accommodating-- they had excellent recommendations for meals and sights-- and the room was modern and impeccably clean. Highlights included the in-room Nspresso machine (key for those of us who need morning coffee asap) and the separate toilet and bathroom. Proximity to the Spanish steps was also wonderful. Only seven rooms here, so guests feel very prioritized.

Rome is such an amazing city with culture, sights, food and wine everywhere you look. What a shame to lock yourselves away in a bland chain hotel! At MF you feel like you are living right in the thick of this amazing city. You can just pop out your door and be at the Spanish Steps in less than 2 minutes. On a long day of sight seeing it is nice to be able to pop back to your room and refresh, ready for the next leg!

MF is located in the heart of ancient Rome, just off one of the premier shopping streets. It is central yet peaceful. We stayed in the rooftop suite which was wonderful. The size of most apartments, it was luxurious yet had loads of character. The bathroom was huge! Some very nice touches such as the Nespresso machine.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was serviced thoroughly whenever we chose.

Overall, if you want to immerse yourself in the true splendor of this fantastic city, and be right at the heart of all the action, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: The rooftop suite is fantastic!
