We had been to Thats Amore a year previous to take part in Fabios amazing cookery class and were planning on coming back to eat. However we arrived into rome at 9pm and left hotel to find somewhere to eat at around 1030 and nowhere had there kitchen open, understandably so. We then decided to cut through on of the major road tunnels to get some snack at spar as we though we had
Missed the boat with restaurants for
The note. Much to our surprise we came across Thats Amaore again. We were seated about 1045 and the staff were still super friendly wven though it was so late. We ordered the bruscheta, Alfredo and beef Ragout and all were amazing. We even had room for some Tiramisu. All this and a bottle of water and a bottle of pinot grigio came to 67 euro. We couldnt have asked for a more perfect start to our break in Rome. Thank you Thats Amore

This was a little pricier than other meals I had on my Rome visit but you're also paying for the much nicer ambiance and handmade pasta. I came on a Saturday for lunch and it was entirely filled with tourists (except for one table beside us) so I got a little worried. But the food was great! We had the seafood tagliatelle and the tomato-mozzarella gnocchi; both were amazing! Even the bread basket was the best we had during our trip.

Thought this place was really touristy and over priced for what you get... they refused to give us table water and menu outside didnt match up with the menu we were given on the table, When i requested a meal that I had seen before we went in i was told this wasn't possible!!
Found much better restaurants in Rome than this

Dear customer,

We reviewed your comment very carefully and must admit we consider it nonsense and not acceptable . The effort we put in giving our customers the best experience possible cannot be judged because we don’t permit to serve free water at the table. This doesn’t regard our food, service or atmosphere and by the way it’s not allowed. Our work should be judged by these principals and nothing else. We also checked after your review what is written on the menu outside and it is perfectly the same as the one given at the table. Complete nonsense. I also want to add that at the end of every clients meal we ask to fill in a satisfactory form because we believe our customers are our number one asset.

Reviews are important and should be constructive. We accept them with joy because make us understand where we are not satisfactory and how we can always improve. These kind of reviews are only damaging for a business and don’t take in account the real value of a restaurant

My other half and I were celebrating our first anniversary so we really wanted to find an nice, authentic (and NOT touristy) Italian to dine in. After passing restaurant after restaurant being hassled by the hosts before even looking at the menu, we came across 'That's Amore' in a beautiful side street near the Fontana di Trevi, and it what a gem it turned out to be! After being able to look at the menu outside for a few minutes without disturbance we were greeted by a very friendly host who showed us in - it was fairly empty so we were given a choice of tables. The restaurant itself was cute and quaint, cosy and decorated really nicely; a lovely atmosphere for couples especially. The food was exceptional - for starters we had the 'Gratin vegetables with warm focaccia bread' which was delicious, followed by the homemade lasagne and spaghetti with salmon and mint, and then Gelato for dessert. The ingredients were high quality, very tasty and the portion sizes were close to perfect. Although the food was absolutely divine, the best assist of this restaurant by far was the customer service; the three gentleman (one was called Fernando I believe!?) were the best of the best! They were friendly and chatty, but left us alone enough of the time that it didn't feel like they were intruding. They even helped us out with our Italian! :) Honestly all three of them made our visit absolutely perfect. I would recommend 'That's Amore' to anyone looking for a friendly, authentic Italian restaurant with incredible food & service, without that awful 'made for tourists' feel. I wish we had pictures to post but we were having such a good evening we forget to take any photos! We will definitely be back when we're in Rome again, one of the highlights of out visit!!! Grazie mille per tutto!!! :)
