“decent stay at B&B Inandout Rome Centre”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We stayed here just this past week. As everyone has said before, this place is about location, location and location. We walked everywhere and that made it very convenient. Just understand what you are getting beforehand. The 70 odd steps are very steep and uneven, so if you have any walking difficulties, this is not the place for you. The rooms are clean, but there are only 4 and we stayed in one of the smallest (think ship's interior cabin) - we did not come to Rome to stay in our room so it served it's purpose for our visit. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is fine, and the location is excellent.

Room Tip: orange room is small but has 2 small windows - read that one of the rooms has no windows! Double ch...

I gotta be honest with this one: the location of this one couldn't be better. We could basically walk from the hotel to anywhere we wanted. Piazza Navona at spitting distance, Pantheon just 5 min further and the Vatican you can almost smell the religion from your hotel room.
Plenty of paces to eat around the corner and some real good coffee bars to start you day with a shot of espresso "d'Italia style".

The downside of this place would more be the bed, or rather sofa bed, in the economy room. It's acceptable to sleep in a room this size, but the sofa bed was one reason to consider another room, if they weren't fully booked, or even move to another hotel. The staff is really helpful and provided us with simple, but good, breakfast every day.

If you're looking for a good place to sleep in a prime location, choose a bigger room than the economy room. If you are just passing through and need a place to stay for a night, the economy room might just fit your needs enough.

We stayed at this b&b for a weekend and really loved it.
The location is perfect and in 20 minutes walk you can reach almost any place in Rome.
The b&b is a former appartament and the rooms are newly furnished and clean.
The staff is very kind and didn't have a problem to let us in late at night ( even if they have to get there since there is no reception).
Reading reviews we were afraid for te noise from the near " bar del fico", but the noise was ok and didn't bother us for sleeping. Actually, the bar and the restaurant near bye give a very nice atmosphere to the whole area.
Only bad point was breakfast, which was a bit too small in the selection and not of great quality.
Overall very raccomanded, especially to couples.

The rooms have no windows, the bed is saggy, bathrooms are tiny, we considered the 'breakfast' not edible. But, the location is amazing, the staff are nice and, for $100 a night in the middle of Rome, its about what one would expect.

There is the catch! Because this stay may end up costing you much, much more. The place is old, everything inside is falling apart. If it happens to break when you are there, they will charge you for it.

This is what happened to us - we were shocked to find an unauthorized 300 euros (!!!) charge on our credit card when we returned home. The owners claim the toilet pump broke while we were there - apparently there was a sanitary napkin lodged inside.

We live in a country with poor plumbing (Cambodia) and have traveled extensively in Africa and Asia; we would never throw anything down the rickety excuse for a toilet in this hotel. It could have been there from 1-5 tenants before with the motor slowly burning it off. In fact, the owner admitted in writing that the loud, poorly functioning pump, which we noticed from our first day there, probably meant that this was the case.

But you know what? They still figure whoever is last in the room when X breaks, they can charge for keeping up their hotel.

We are of course disputing these charges and taking legal action. But this event has soured what was otherwise a wonderful trip.

If you want to roll the dice, and hope none of the old, dinky appliances and furniture in this hotel break during your stay, you may get away with being charged only what you agreed to pay. If you are unlucky, you will be stuck with a big bill and a headache.

Room Tip: If rolling the dice, I suggest checking everything in the room and reporting problems immediately. O...

this review refers to the assumed unauthorised charge from the clients credit card, not for the payment of the stay, because our hotel doesnt take any action without the clients knowing. The client at the end of the trip remarked he had had a very plesant stay, hower, once he received the bill for having blocked the toilet by flushing things down it (in the bathroom there is clearly a sign that says not to do it), he changed his view completely, writing an offensive review about our hotel, claiming he had had a terrible stay, and that the transaction was not authorized. We think that the negative feedback he has provided is misleading and untrue. We are sorry for having had to charge the ammount, but the damage caused was high, and we have had to completely change the broken parts, and nevertheless have charged the client just half the ammount. Our rules were clearly written and exposed by the sign, and the client said that he had clearly read them. The hotel, situated in a building of the 17th century, was completely renewed in 2008, and is fully and perfectly functional, offering great confort to all the clients, including the client previously said.
Any client is free to write there opinion, with the maximum respect, but in this case we have retained appropriate, truthfull and important for tripadvisors users to fully understand the situation.

I cannot rate B & B InandOut highly enough - from start to finish our stay here was superb!

I was initially confused and thought we were staying at the Piazza Navona b&b and to our detriment we turned up here first - completely my fault (check the confirmation - not googlemaps!)
However Philomena (the manager) was INCREDIBLE - she turned up after she'd worked out our mistake and then walked us to InandOut2 whilst pointing out the best restaurants, shops and bars along the way.

Once at the right place we were amazed - the b&b is at the top of a beautiful period apartment block just minutes from campo d'fiori and ponte sisto (and thus Trastevere!). The communal space in the b&b is petite but the rooms and bathrooms are perfect size! The bed was extremely comfy and the shower was perfect to shake off the wine headache!

Be aware the b&b is in the heart of the centro storico and very close to the hubbub of Trastevere so with the windows open it can be a bit noisy - but not in a way that you wouldn't be able to sleep (you might find yourself wanting to head back out though!)

Breakfast was fantastic - great cappucino and fresh croissants to get the day started and plenty of yoghurts and fruit if you need something a little lighter! Good tip - there is a supermarket just a few doors down to the right so if you do find yourself needing anything else, once again InandOut has the location!

Finally back to location - this was my third trip to Rome and undeniably the best. You can walk to so many fantastic sights in such a short time, if your legs are tired the busses and trams are right around the corner. Trastevere and Janiculum hill are incredible from sunset onwards and, (I'm sure some may disagree) but Campo d'fiori is the best of all the Piazzas - it feels more real, more Roman and the restaurants, bars and daily markets are the tops. Thankyou Philomena!

We recommend this B&B which has a wonderful location. No need to take a taxi or metro to visit Rome. All main attractions are close (5 minutes to Piazza Navona, 10 minutes to Fontana Trevi and Panthenon, 20 minutes to Vatican). The room was cozy, and cleaned every day.
We liked the cappuccino and the breakfast.
