Me and my friend stayed at Casa di Silvia for 7 days, Dec22-Dec29. Our room was facing the inner yard and thus very quiet. The room had a big wardrobe, a fridge, nice comfy bed (+ we had an extra bed but for us by Iuliana). Iuliana's breakfast was delicious and lasted us half the day =). She also has one kettle for her B&B that you can borrow & that was very convenient.
Casa di Silvia is 5 min walk to St.Giovanni metro station, St.Giovanni in Laterano church, 20 min walk to the Colosseum. Iuliana is truly a very welcoming, chatty and helpful host. She even gave us a bottle of champagne for X-mas! ))) So nice of her.
I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone who goes to Rome.
PS: if every room in this B&B had a tiny kettle - it woulbe be paradise ^_^
Love Iuliana!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner court are quiet, but trust me you get so tired walking in Rome, that street n...

All the reviews are right, we just had such a great stay at casa di silvia!

The location is great, three minute walk to the metro and 20 minute leisurely walk to the colosseum! Great breakfast (I meant to take a picture but it's cereal, yoghurt, toast, coffee juice and croissants in your bedroom), cookies and drinks in the reception area were lovely!

The woman who runs it is very helpful and accommodating! I would definitely stay here again, perfect for the price.

It's nicer than I expected, in a beautiful courtyard area in a sweet part of rome :)

As a lot of people who review this establishment say, Iuliana the hostess of Casa Di Silvia, really makes you feel so welcome, and is so friendly and funny. She really made us smile over the weekend, and was readily available for our very late arrival, when we had problems finding the place due to a taxi driver who didn't know where he was going. The room and bed were comfortable and most importantly quiet, and the breakfast was more than sufficient to set you up for a day's sight-seeing in Rome. The B&B is very close to the Metro, within walking distance of the Coloseum, and also across the road from one of the undiscovered gems of Rome - Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. We will be back to stay with Iuliana in 2014 for our next long weekend in beautiful Rome...

Julianna makes this B&B like going to a friends home for the vacation. She was very helpful and generous. There was always tea and a freshly baked cake around for any evening cravings. The room was a bit small for me and my family of four but the greetings and the location definitely compensated for that. The location is across the street from the bus station 85 at Rimini street. This bus takes you past many of the main sites. About 500 meters from the B&B there is the Metro station as well. The colosseum is about a 15 minute walk away.

Room Tip: Best to choose a room that is not on the main road as generally there is a lot of noise throughout t...

We stayed at Casa di Silvia for 3 nights in October 2013. The B&B is in a lovely apartment building with a huge beautiful central courtyard, near San Giovanni di Laterano. There are only 3 rooms so you get very special individual attention; there was also the biggest shower we'd had in our 3 weeks in Italy! Juliana is a lovely young woman who was the most helpful person we'd run into--told us about buses, ATMs, restaurants, etc. AND she gave us a great breakfast, with extra food in our room (room refrigerator, too). We felt very spoiled!

My wife and I stayed at Casa Di Silvia for 4 days in early October. The facility itself is very nice, located on first floor of the building. There is an elevator, but since you only have to go up a few stairs, you may not need it. Our room was very clean and fairly large as European B&Bs go. Bathroom was nice and also a bit larger and it actually had places to set your toiletries. The place is located in a mostly residential area and has a beutiful courtyard between the gate and the entrance to the building. The location is excellent, within a block or so of the San Giovani Metro station and walking distance to the most of the main sights. We did use the Metro to Visit the Vatican, but walked to most of the others. if you prefer not to walk, Metro service is easy to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain, as well as to Train station. Walk was easy to Forum and colosium.

The real highlight of this B&B, though, is Giulia, the owner/operator. We have stayed at quite a number of similiar establishments throughout Spain and Italy and she is by far the nicest, warmest, most helpful and enthusiastic person we have met. I am not including details and directions in this review because I know that Giulia will explain and show you, give you maps, draw you maps, and do what ever it takes to get you where you want to go. She speaks fluent English, by the way. I should mention too that she serves an excellent breakfast by European B&B standards, with all the coffee you want. She really is the best and you will just have to go and meet her to appreciate what I am trying to describe. This is an excellent value and a great experience. We left feeling that we had made a friend for life.

Room Tip: Room was on street and trafic a bit noisy with window open. If you are light sleeper you might want...

I stayed in Casa Di Silvia with my mum for 4 days on the beginning on September. We came from a 3 star hotel in Venice and with the hurry we forgot our money and passports on the safe. We realised about it when we arrived in Rome, called them several times but the hotel management refused to go and check the safe and help us getting our documents back.

We told Iuliana (the manager of Casa di Silvia) about this traumatic experience, she took her mobile and made few calls to the hotel. It went back and forth for few hours and at the end she managed to get a courier with our documents. Love at first sight!!! Iuliana is a caring, helpful hostess, amazing customer service.

The B&B is centrally located, 5 min walk from the tube station, in a quiet neighbourhood, all recently refurbished and super clean! I will go back to Casa di Silvia next time I go to Rome and I recommend you to do the same.
