“Very good traditional Roman cuisine but way too expensive.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

The place is in an old wine shop in the San Lorenzo area of Rome. The tables are very small so there is very little elbow room and there are no table cloths just paper place mats. The food was really good, the vignarola - peas, fava, lettuce and artichokes - was excellent. The wine list was also good. However, the prices were very high. Considering this is 'poor cuisine' and the ambient itself is not exactly luxurious I don't think the cost can be justified.

“Excellent home-made food”

Food was very tasty and well- prepared. Particularly good was the lamb with roast potatoes, a Roman speciality I'm told! Creme Caramel also fantastic.

“Don't hesitate, just walk in!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2012

It doesn't look a very attractive site, but just walk in and the food will change your mind. If you really want to taste the Roman delicacy, this is a good place.
Always follow the locals you know...

“Southern Taste in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2011

When I want to remind where I came from I have a dinner in this place. Well, I'm a frequent customer and as you can see in other references the recipies are originally tasty. The portion are not abundant simply because this place is not for freeloaders...
Just few an example of starter is Fried Anchovy watered previously in the egg.
Of note there is good and big selection of national wine (compared with other restaurants in the area). Finally the owner always come to you asking for your feedback.
The price is linear with the quality and originality of recipies.
