“Great service and food... worth the drive”
Reviewed February 27, 2011

Went there on a local's suggestion. It's quite a bit away from city center, but worth it for the local Roman cuisine. Huge pasta portions, so be careful when ordering 2 courses. The Amatriciana was incredible and enough for 2 people. Antonio was the best server we had in Rome. He spoke excellent English and helped us pick the house specials. Great food at a low cost. The most expensive thing was the taxi ride. Please go.

“Cheap but not good”
Reviewed May 9, 2010

We went in here at around 8.30pm and it was really busy which we thought was a good sign. The waiter seemed in a huge hurry to take our order - came back three times within less than 5 minutes and tutted when we said we weren't ready. The food is all precooked and stored in a glass fronted cabinet - when you order they plate it behind the counter and then microwave it. Two of our dishes were cold in the middle and only lukewarm at the sides - I left mine and the guy asked what was wrong with it - when I said it was cold he put it in the microwave for a few more minutes. Deserts all came with squirty cream and although we'd been served and eaten at record speed due to the pushy waiter we were almost the last in the restaurant and were rushed out by glaring, tutting staff approx 30 minutes after we'd entered! The food was not good, barely reheated and the staff were rude and unfriendly. The only positive thing I can say is it was amazingly cheap, especially for Rome - 3 courses and half litre of wine for 2 people only cost about 24euros.

“don't be put off by first appearance!”
Reviewed February 19, 2010

This restaurant is a no frills sort of place but the food is first rate. We were a bit put off by the exterior but it really is well worth a visit. The food was excellent. We had authentic, fresh Italian food served very quickly in a lively atmosphere surrounded by lots of locals! The bill for two people for 3 courses and a bottle of wine was 35 euros! (There was a tourist menu available with 3 courses for 11 euros.)
