We stumbled on this restaurant in a side street near the Piccadilly Hotel just at the point where we were about to give up hope of eating. What a lucky find. The welcome was superb. The food was excellent. The wine was first class. The only problem was choosing what to eat as the menu and the specials revealed an amazing range of Italian food, all freshly prepared from really good quality fresh ingredients. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we enjoyed the place as much as the food and wine - and as we had two bottles of the excellent house wine that is saying a lot. We arrived early, fortunately, as the place filled up with local people at 8pm. I am so glad we got in, it was a highlight of my Roman weekend.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, not too busy (we ate there at 20:30 on a Monday) and the staff very helpful. we ordered only Primo (first course in Italy) and usually this was enough for us in most restaurants, here we got rather small dishes and payed 10 to 12 euro each too pricey for our budget to get another one (we ended up eating a slice of pizza to finish the night).
In conclusion, If you go there be ready to spend about 50 Euro for a couple not including the wine, dessert and antipasti.
But if you can afford it, Do go there.

This was a great little restaurant down a quiet backstreet. There was a good menu, which compared to many restaurants nearby, felt authentic. The menu was broken into earth and sea. We had Crostini and aubergine rolls as entrees - very tasty and well presented. This we followed with pasta - one with aubergine and mushroom, the other with clams and pesto. The food was very good and service was attentive but not intrusive.
