“When in Rome...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

This is a great place. Don't be miseld by the title "Hostel" as this is a beautiful old Roman appartment that has been converted into three beautiful, tastefully decorated rooms like you will most likely not find them in any hotel at this price. Furthermore, the place is located in a great neighbourhood in walking distance to the train station, some major sights (Colloseum etc.) and some great restaurants and bars. Which brings me to whats actually best about this place: when you check in the superfriendly owners Ercole and/or Ricardo really take their time to explain to you a map which they've created by themselves, containing their personal all-time-Rome-favourites including Restaurants, Bars, Shops, etc. This map was priceless, really, as the recommendations do not only contain some old-shool-Rome-classics but also many hidden gems off the beaten path that one would never find if not advised by resident of town. These guys know about the good stuff!! and are also very helpful if you have any other wishes. We loved it and will gladly come back!

Such a beautiful place. Blue is close to Termini station and within walking distance of almost all sites in Rome. Ercole was very friendly when the booking was made and Riccardo was beyond helpful in getting me settled, showing me where the main sites are, as well as some hot tips off the main path. It was lovely to explore Rome and then come back to this little sanctuary. The room was beautiful and completely set up for me to look after myself. Will definitely recommend and return.

I found this place on Trip Advisor, and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are lovely, simple and comfortable with well decorated functional bathrooms. The service was outstanding, from my correspondence with Ettore, to the welcome and help we had from Riccardo. I was travelling with my parents and my family, so we needed somewhere tranquil and safe. Very convenient position too, a short walk from the coliseum and train station, we even parked the car in the road outside without problems. They booked us a great restaurant, printed out boarding passes and kept an eye on my parents when I had left! I will go back.

Shuttle bus from airport to metro center leaves you just a few blocks from blue hostel. Only 4 euro. Place was clean, comfortable, quiet. Walking distance to forum. Proprietor was very helpful showing us how easy it is to take metro to all sites. Gave us advice on how to skip long lines to sites. Saved a lot of time and was able to see more. Would definitely stay here next time in Rome.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Hostel for 4 nights and we loved it. The rooms are clean, decorated beautifully and very comfortable. We were met by Ricardo who helped us with our luggage and also made sure we were settled in. Also provided us with a map of what to see in Rome, where to eat, drink, shop etc. Everything is thought of to make your stay as pleasant as possible and have to say Ercole and Ricardo were both so helpful with any questions. Great location, close to trains and buses and within walking distance to most interests. We would stay there again.

Blue Hostel didn't look like it would be anything very special from the street but, after climbing the stairs and going through the front door we found it to be a beautiful, tastefully refurbished, quiet and relaxed place. We couldn't have made it up the stairs with our luggage without help from the delightful staff member, Riccardo. Neither would we have had such a gastronomic experience thanks to Riccardo's dining recommendations. We had a really lovely stay.

We stayed 3 days in Rome to visit a city and Bluehostel was a perfect solution: walking distance to all most interesting places, next to metro station, and a great hospitality. We received a lot of very useful information how to visit the city, where to eat etc. If we go to Rome once again we will stay at Bluehostel again for sure.
