A lovely place to stay - quiet (including the aircon), comfortable, in easy walking distance (or metro access) to all the sights of Rome. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going the extra distance to make you feel welcome, organized, and full of tips for the best restaurants, sights, and deals.

What a fantastic find this was. With so many places to stay in Rome, knowing which one to chose can be tricky - so if you are reading this review with a stay in mind....don't delay. Book it now!!

The location is fantastic - close to termini, yet on a delightfully peaceful street far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it is there if you want it, but not in your face. Walking is very much the order of the day though - the Colessio is no more than 10 mins away, and don't pay over the odds for hotels near the Spanish Steps or Trevi - they are a similar distance in the other direction! If you do chose to use the metro - termini is best avoided due to the sheer numbers - use instead the Vittorio Emmanuelle station a few hundred yards down.

Some of the top hoteliers could learn a thing or two from the welcome afforded by Ercole. With his customised maps to include recommended eateries and cocktail bars plus tips in getting the most out of the sights - you can tell that Roma is not just his city, but also his passion. The room itself has a comfortable bed, large bathroom with working flush and hot water (not always guaranteed in Rome I gather!) and is in a delightful hallway shared with two other rooms. There are a few flights of stairs, so do be aware of this if elderly/disabled/lazy. For us, it was no problem and I hope it won't be for you as the climb is well worth it.

We loved our time in Roma - and the initial welcome, the map produced and fantastic room to come back to have all contributed to this. It really was a home away from home. So good in fact, that it inspired me to join trip advisor just so I could tell you about it!

So what are you waiting for? Stop searching other hotels, get in touch with Ercole and book Blue today. You certainly won't regret it.

A group of us stayed in 2 rooms and were pleasantly surprised to see that this place felt much more like a hotel than a hostel. There are just a few rooms set aside for Blue Hostel in this conveniently located building, and the 2 we stayed in were really pretty, clean, and comfortable. The owner is really nice - he met us out front and helped us with our bags, gave us a great map of Rome with some favorite restaurants and shopping spots marked, in addition to all the tourist sites. We needed an extra room last minute for our last night and the owner was able to get us one in the same building through the hotel for the same price. Overall a great stay!

Super location, good walking distance to all the main attractions. Rooms were simple, yet clean and comfortable. On arrival, we were given a detailed map and recommended restaurants (I don't know if I would agree with some of them though) !! The map was extremely useful throughout our stay. Good walking distance to the train station.

Room was very nicely decorated. Service was good. Marchelo greeted us & helped us out with our bags to level 3. They even have a cork opener just in case any visitors buy cork wine bottle. Very thoughtful.
However, because it is a wooden hostel so there is not much sound proof. You could here people coming back to their rooms, footsteps from top, etc. Not so suitable for light sleeper.

We had just had a horrible hostel experience so we were pretty nervous. The owner met us at the door and helped us up the stairs with our bags. The owner assured us that 'Blue" was not your average hostel. He was extremely helpful and gave us a map of Rome which he made himself and added suggestions for food and shopping. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The sign is beside the door on the wall so it is very easy to miss. The location is great and not too far from the train station. Our belongings were safe because we needed 4 keys to get to our rooms. If I return to Rome I definitely will book this hostel again!

Blue Hostel is in a great location, easy to access Metro station, great places to eat etc. What really made it special for me is the entire staff, from the beginning of the booking process Ercole was quick to respond to e mails with numerous questions, when we arrived they made us feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you very much. Until we meet again.
