“Home-Cooking with TLC”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

If you find youself in the Ponte Milvio area, going down via Flaminia, tired of the high-tech, nouvelle cuisine restaurants, then it's time you went to il Buchetto. When it comes to eating down-home Italian cooking just like Mama used to make, no place can beat il Buchetto. The warm, cosy and quaint eatery is run by Fanny and her husband Bisvaldo - two Sardinians who know how to whip up Sardinian, as well as Roman dishes. Bisvaldo is always surprising his customers with a range of only the freshest fish to choose from. Fried, grilled, boiled or marinated, the fish, whether you have it as an appetizer or as a first or second course is always delicious. Let Fanny tempt you with all the culinary delights her kitchen can put on your plate - from salads to veggies and desserts. The price is reasonable and the service is second to none. A refreshing change in a high-tech culinary world.

“great little pizza place you might miss”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

Stayed at Popolo star which is right opposite this little restaurant, from the outside you would not even notice it, apart from the long line of people waiting for their lovely pizza. They do have tables and we did eat in once and it was lovely, great value for the perfect fresh cooked pizzas. All the staff were great and put up with our bad italian.

“Simple, Inexpensive, Good”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

This little pizza place is simple and perfect for a quick, inexpensive and very tasty lunch. My wife and I went there with our two daughters (8 and 6) for lunch after visiting Explora just down the Via Flaminia.

The pizzas come in small and a bit larger. The small is enough for one and the larger is good to share, though a hunger adult to handle it individually. The crust on the pizza is thin and delicious. I had the Napoletana, which was very good. We ordered the Antipasta Misto which had half of a large ball of mozzarella on it.

The entire meal for the four of us, with three pizzas, the antipasta, water and a beer came to around 20€. The pizzeria was filled with Italians, so it seems to be a local favorite as well.

“a good and dependable meal”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

When I was last in Rome, I made it a point to eat here. The pizza here is very consistent; always good. In addition, it's just a comfortable place for lunch or dinner. Even as a tourist, I never felt rushed over my meal. My favorite place in Rome to have a pizza and a beer.
