Our two days in Rome were fabulous. Francesco took us on a day long tour of all the sights of Rome and some surrounding it. Noemi took us through the Vatican. They are both a delight and extremely knowledgeable. We even met Roberto, the father, who stopped by to say hi. We say all the major sites, were taken for the best coffee in the world and white pizza--just delicious. All tours were in very clean cars, the guides very nice, fun and attentive.
Our third day in Florence was not as successful as we thought we were getting a walking tour but it was a driving one. The driver was not as knowledgeable of the buildings as Francesco and Noemi. I would say, just be clear about what you want when you book a tour. We have had many private tours in the past and Florence was still a good one. I would use this company upon a return to Rome. I don't think you can get any better than the Miglio family.

Rome is undoubtedly a city full of history and I was fortunate enough to find Miles and Miles. I did a day tour around the wonderful buildings, visited the Vatican and travelled around the city by night. Both Roberto and Caron were freindly and informative, they have the unique talent of making you feel like a friend, their passion is infectious and they are so knowledgeable, any question you fire at them, they have the answer. I learnt so much about Rome and I will carry fond memories of my visit forever. I wouldn't hesitate is recommending Miles and Miles for all the tours you want to do, I honestly don't think that any other company could come close to them. S Ball, Yorkshire.

We booked a 7 seater private car tour with 2 other couples travelling on the same cruise ship.we wanted to see as much of Rome as we could in the 1 day we had in port and this trip cost us a lot less than the ships organised tours and with being in a small vehicle we were able to get really close to a lot of the sights with minimal walking.

Tth only downpoint was for lunch. Our driver asked us if we would like to go for an "inexpensive bowl of pasta "at a restaurant near the popes summer palace.we said yes imagining a 5 euro bowl of spaghetti bolognaise.Unfortunately his idea of inexpensive and ours were somewhat different .The meal with drinks[we did not have wine] came to around 25 euros per person. The restaurant was in a beautiful setting and the meal was nice but we thought we had made it clear that we wanted to make the most of a sightseeing day and a leisurely lunch at a restaurant was not what we had anticipated. When I commented on the fact to the driver he took offence and started arguing back with me that he didn't think that was expensive.Obviously he is used to tourists prepared to spend that type of money on a meal but regardless you don't argue back with a customer!

that was the only thing that spoiled an otherwise fantastic day but a month later it still rankles that he tried to deny he had misled us.Advice to future customers is definitely book the company but clarify your expectations and stress that if all you want at luchtime is a quick snack you don't get taken to a posh restaurant where they expect you to sit for hours eating and drinking lots of local wine!

The highlight of our two week trip to Italy -- touring with Miles and Miles!
(8/14/09 & 8/15/09)

Our Vatican City walking tour with Noemi, and the Rome tour with Francesco, was nothing short of fabulous! They are passionate about what they do, and it shines through the tours. They arrived at the hotel to pick us up 10 minutes early. The roomy, air-conditioned vehicles were very comfortable. They possessed a deep, rich, knowledge of the history of Italy/Rome and were very engaging and enthusiastic. There wasn't one minute that we felt that they were bored or simply going through the motions, even though they must have given these tours a thousand times. They were especially considerate of our 9 & 12 year old daughters -- making everything interesting and intriguing.

Noemi's tour of Vatican City was super! She was a delight. We left brimming over with knowledge about the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters. We just surrendered ourselves to Francesco and let him set the agenda for our day touring Rome and he did not disappoint! He was amazing! We saw so many unique things that you won't find in a tour book. The tours are a tremendous value -- no waiting in lines, no wasted time trying to get to the sites, no language barriers, etc. We saw twice as many sites in one day than if we had tried to do it ourselves (or with a large tour group). We can't imagine that anyone would not opt for their private tours. By the end of the tours, we felt like we were saying good-bye to family, and were sad to leave.

Francesco & Noemi, we are indebted to you for making our stay in Rome a magical experience!

The McLaughlins

Before the day began, our family of 5 (3 teenage girls) was in doubt that Rome could be experienced in a day. When the day ended our assumption was proved correct, but one day is long enough to fall in love with this city. Roberto picked us up when our cruise pulled into port at 8 in the morning and his passion for the history and wonder of the city was immediately evident. He is a very welcoming guide to the city, providing history, culture and humor to the hour long drive Civitavecchia to the city. He took us through parts of the city we could not have reached by a big bus or walking tour (ie the Jewish Ghetto with all the cats was a big hit). We were able to skip the lines at the Coliseum and had a private tour from his daughter at The Vatican. He took us to all the big sites and invited us to eat at a restaurant he grew up at. It was a wonderful day that will not be forgotten by any of us! When we are back in Rome (we will be back, because we all threw a coin in the Trevy fountain!) we will definitely be hiring Roberto again.
