I visited Rome last weekend and I stayed at Mosaic Hostel with two friends of mine. We rented 3 beds in a 4-bed mixed dorm, which was very clean and modern.
The staff is really friendly, they help you whatever problems you have and also give some hints about the sights and places you shouldn t miss while in Rome. The breakfast is also fine for some days.
The location is great, 5 minutes walk from Termini station - where you have all the public transport connections - , but you can easily reach the center on foot as well, it takes app, 20-30 minutes!
I would defenitely stay in this Hostel again next time! :)

Located about 10-12 minute walk from Roma Termini. Friendly staff, helpful with maps, local restaurants, and they also lead their own walking tour of Roma if you're interested. Breakfast minimal. Many others to hang with in the common area, if that is your thing. Rooms were basic and clean. Sound proof windows to block out the city noise. Bathrooms cleaned everyday, no problems there.

Room Tip: We had a window on the main drag, but with sound proof windows. Noise wasn't an issue.

one of the cleanliest hostels ever stayed.great location.

food is weak point. poor selection and plastic cutlery....not very impressive.....we asked for simple breakfast (coffe and toast) as we were leaving early....and we got nothing...customer service is not strong point

Very clean and secure hostel to stay in. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great location, near lots of the most expensive hotels in rome. The only draw back was the breakfast was a bit basic needed extras of yogurts or better selection of breads.

Great location, about a 10 min walk from the main Termini train station. Being a solo traveller i found this hostel a bit boring, no communal areas, no social atmosphere at all. Having to share 1 bathroom for a whole floor of rooms was not good in the morning.
I wouldn't recommend this hostel unless you were a family or group of people who liked a low key quiet stay.

This was the nicest hostel I stayed at in Italy. It's a short walk from the main station, 10 minutes if you are a slow walker. The staff were very friendly and recommended some good eateries and attractions.

I stayed in a 4 bed dorm which was spacious - we had a seperate room with alcove and adjoinging ensuite which was great for separating the sound. Buzzers for each level and the front door, keys to rooms and lockers made the hostel quite secure.

Breakfast was also included - good if you are on a budget. The atmosphere was a bit lacking but in part due to the size of the common area and alcohol being more expensive in Italy. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in Rome, this hostel was consistently good.

Unfortunately it's the worst hostel I stayed in. The bed was clean (which is a must), so was the room during the first 2 days of my 4 days stay in Rome. Actually they told me it's getting cleaned every day. I booked a female dorm and it happend to be a mixed one. No one at the reception wanted to help me out, they told me "they don't have female dorms" which they clearly offer on their homepage. The bar is not a bar, it just to look at, you can not order. The breakfast was the worst I ever had, so it's a good advice not to try it. Bathrooms were very old and rocked out. Unfortunately the cleaning service took my towel and brought it back dirty (at the beginning of my trip) and they didn't offered me a laundry service for it even it was not my fault. To make it short, the only plus is it's situated very close to the Termini Station, the staff is nice and you can meet very nice people there. But they should improve cleaniness, breakfast and their living room to make it a place to recommend.
