Some of the points below may seem negatives, but are intended only as informative, and are only to be expected given the location and age of the building.
Please read the whole review>>>

This is a small hotel, more B&B by UK standards, and bear in mind it is in a small side road in the middle of Rome, so a taxi would need to drop off at the end of the road and you would walk about 50m. also our room overlooked the narrow road and building opposite.

It is ideally located for sight-seeing, being walking distance from Piazza Navona, Treve Fountain, Pantheon and Vatican City; and depending on how much you like to walk, it's even in range of the Colosseum (about a 20-30minute walk).

The hotel is a little tough to find, being tucked away at the top of Vicolo della Palomba, (No.19, ), and the reception and rooms are on the first floor, with only a tiny lift and a spiral staircase ( so be aware if you have big heavy bags or are a little infirm or of restricted mobility (or a larger build) - there is no way you could get a person and a standard suite-case in the lift, much less a wheelchair). Two average build people is all the lift will accommodate.
That said, the room was clean and fresh, being refreshed every day (new towels / bed made etc), and a light (inclusive) breakfast is delivered to the rooms if required (they were very helpful in providing early delivery on days we had to leave early for day trips).

All the staff we met were very warm and friendly, and really helpful.
More on the room:
Our shower was small but good and hot, and the wash room was clean and well lit.
There is also free WiFi.
Overall, assuming you are able to a) fit in the lift and shower, b) walk up one flight of stairs, this is a great base for visiting a large number of world famous Rome attractions.

Great little place, lovely people.

Many thanks :D

My husband and I stayed at the Imperium Suite Navona for 8 nights in September. For the price we paid the room was great!! The bed was comfortable, the washroom/towels were clean, and we were served breakfast in our room every morning. I have to say, though, that the most impressive thing about this place is the location. Piazza Navona is less than a two minute walk from the front door! It is also within walking distance to many of the major attractions in ancient Rome.

We rented an appartement for 3 persons on october 2013.
The appartement was on the ground floor on the street and very noisy since there is a bar just facing and people smoking outside all night long.
The room smelled of mould.
The floor was not welle cleaned and our feet were black after few steps..
On the top of that, we had no hot water for the morning shower !!

Stayed two nights in September. We were brought here by Paolo from Residenza Canali because he had no room at the inn. We were pleasantly surprised by the Lilliputian elevator. What a treat! The room was very clean and well decorated. The bathroom was cute and had great water pressure. We ordered our breakfast from a very extensive menu and were able to eat in the room at our leisure. Upon returning from Florence 2 weeks later, we were bumped from our flight so we went straight back there. There was a big conference in Rome and the hotels were mostly full. The very kind gentleman at the desk, Rahaman, got on the phone and didn't stop until he found us a little pleasant hotel near the Termini. I would definitely stay here again. The place is tricky to find but we found that most places are difficult to find. We are used to redundant signage in the U.S. and spoon-fed directions. The Italians are more subtle and leave the exploring to the tourist. Venice was even harder, in fact, quite a nightmare. So, take it in stride and enjoy looking at new things.

The most noticeable feature of this hotel is the location. Literally steps from Piazza Navona with a taxi stand just steps away. This makes getting anywhere in Rome a breeze.

We stayed in the apartment on the main floor. The bed is a flight of stairs away on a makeshift floor hung from the ceiling. It is soo close to the ceiling that you have to bend over while walking to ensure you don't hit your head. It barely reaches 4ft high.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. It creaked loudly with even the smallest movement.

There were ants in our room, and mysteriously a piece of furniture disappeared from our room while we were out (presumably by the hotel staff) but without notice or explanation.

Avoid.

Besides the location, which is truly perfect and is a 2 min walk to Piazza Navona and many more key destinations, there isnt really anything great to say about this place. It is really an apartment floor that has 4 or so rooms. The service was good, but the rooms were gloomy and really not all that pleasant. The breakfast was simple, but good. If you are on a budget feel free to book, otherwise dont recommend.

I stayed at this guesthouse in August 2013 for two nights. This review is for the guesthouse which occupied three people.

First of all the location was very difficult to find. The place is located in a small alley and there is no sign pointing to the hotel/guesthouse. My friends and I spent about twenty minutes looking for the place. Once we entered the establishment, we realized that this wasn't a hotel or a guesthouse but rather an apartment building in which the rooms were converted into hotel rooms. Once the staff showed us the room, we realized that the space was large. It resembled a studio apartment with a loft. The room came with a living room area, dining room, small kitchen and a washer. The loft has a full bed which fits two and the bottle floor has a single place. We soon realized that it wasn't safe to sleep in the loft as the whole foundation was held but four chains and the whole foundation was shaky. So all of us ended sleeping in the living room area for the entire stay.

The bathroom is rather small. The hotel area is closed to many landmarks.

Overall the hotel is closed to many landmarks and the staff is very helpful and nice. I probably wouldn't stay at this place next time due to the fact that the hotel was very difficult to find.
