Have been to Rome before, but wanted to see Sistine Chapel and some of the other highlights.
The Chapel is overpowering, very crowded, with guards shushing everyone to keep quiet. In saying that it was really worth seeing, just a mass of paintings. Would have liked to be able to roam slowly to absorb the workmanship. The Vatican is a superb place with many great statues and other sites, must be in your bucket list.

Many people say Rome is too crowded, it is, but ignoring that, it has such a history, it is a must in your lifetime, but be prepared for a long tiring day, which is worth while

We just spent a week in Italy. We had Marco arrange everything for us - from our transfers from/to the airport, and all of our excursions. We were a group of 6.

We had guided tours of Rome, the Vatican, Hadrian's villa, Tivoli Gardens, Pompeii and Amalfi coast. We had the pleasure of meeting Marco, Dino (PhD who studied at the Vatican), Allesandro, John Carlo (an archeologist in Pompeii) and Paolo. Each and every one of them were polite, knowledgable and very friendly. Each guide showed up at the expected time to pick us up and helped tailor our day to what the group wanted. The cars were all Mercedes vans and were clean.

I went with Rome Connection due to all the wonderful Trip Advisor reviews - and was glad we did so. That being said - Rome Connection is not the cheapest option - and we knew we were paying a premium - but did receive premium service that was reliable. My only nitpick is that the guides often took us for lunch at pre-selected places. A few choices or options of restaurants would have been helpful (especially because our group was made up of vegetarians).

We( two couples in our 60's) just returned from a day and a half in Rome prior to a cruise. We had wondered if there were any way possible to see ALL of Rome in one day. Surfing the internet we came upon Marco and Rome Connections! What a find! Marco quickly responded to all our questions over e-mail. He never wanted a deposit (which was wonderful)! We easily reconfirmed our booking with him just prior to our trip. Marco arrived at our hotel prior to the appointed time of 8:30am. Immediately he took us under his wing and we felt like we'd known him forever. What a good driver he is! He has special access to tiny streets where others cannot go and seems to be able to park anywhere he wishes. Marco is full of historical information which just flows out of him in a very delightful manner. He goes inside the Colosseum and Pantheon with you explaining everything along the way. He knows the guides at the Catacombs. He parked while we walked through Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain on our own. He took us to a nice place for lunch prior to our afternoon tour of the Vatican. His delightful assistant Francesca toured us through the Vatican as Marco had a wedding to attend. She, too, was very knowledgeable and friendly. So we did, in fact, see Rome in one day! We highly recommend Marco and Rome Connections. Contact him! You won't be disappointed!

We booked a tour with Rome Connection and had Max as our guide. He is very personable and knowledgeable about the city and has nerves of steel to drive in the city! The day was a bit strange only because the Colosseum, Palintine Hill, and the Forum were closed but Max rolled with the punches and adjusted as we went along. We were able to see the top spots (minus the closures) and a few other areas that most tourists don't get to see.

It was a great tour with door to door pick up and drop off. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get a solid overview of the city and some history as well!

We just returned from our first trip to Italy. Our one day tour in Rome was excellent. The weather did not cooperate, as we had a cold, rainy, windy day, and we decided to eliminate parts of the tour out of a need for comfort. But our guides were very flexible & did everything they could to make it a great day and a good learning experience. We highly recommend Rome Connection!
