“Do not miss!”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

A great family owned restaurant, where you eat what Signora Paola cooks for the day!! It is a pre-fix charge (great value by the way) - and you get appetizers, pasta, main course and a dessert. We went there on our second to last night in Rome and were sorry that we didn't try it sooner. The restaurant always seemed to enjoy a great clientele, mostly locals, each night we walked passed it and that should have told us something.

OK here we go this spot is in an area you would never think hummm lets eat there. it is
a real homey feel like going to Nonas!! In fact the lady there looked like my Nona she was friendly
kind and happy to see you EAT. So there is no menu they just keep bringing out food after food nothing was bad all was fresh!!!! Delicious home cooked just a wonderful eating experience tiny bathrooms but hey its Europe. This was so much fun and good definitely a spot locals go to eat its off the path of tourist areas. Find this place you will love it!!!

“Great food but only go once.”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

We went here 7 years ago as a couple and had a great experience as we were in the middle of Italian chaos, surrounded by locals and given a range of delicious food: lentils, pork, rice balls, apple tart etc. We walked for ages this time, trying to find it again, booked a table and took our (teenaged) children, promising them heaven. The food is good- no choice, wine included and 25 Euros each. However, we ate EXACTLY the same as we had last time, same everything. Reading other reviews, it seems that they have perfected one menu with minor variations. Hence the only go once. It is an experience. You know exactly how much it is going to cost and the wine and food are presented as Mamma cooks them. But don't go back expecting a different experience.

“Go for the experience”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

As many other reviews noted, this is like having a four-course home cooked meal. It is not gourmet, just some wonderful comfort food, and a lot of it! I loved the experience of having the food come one course after another. They give you a little carafe of wine (red or white) per person and a bottle of sparkling water that is included but they will charge you if you ask for more. A little pricey really for what it is at 25 Euros per person. But in the end you go there for the experience. I would go back if it were a little cheaper but mostly if they would change the menu (i.e. meat and sides) instead of the same thing every single day.

“AVOID the piazza restaurants (olive garden clones) and go here!”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

The little old lady who owns the restaurant is an amazing cook. She welcomed my family in like we came over to eat at Nonnie's house for Sunday dinner. There were countless courses that just keep coming from her kitchen. There is no menu, it is just based on whatever she is making that day but to give an idea, there was at least 2 kinds of pasta, meats, antipasti, bread, dessert, etc. Probably 8 or more courses. To get a culinary tour of Italy in one meal was a real treat!

BTW, they take reservations, it is very affordable and her restaurant is at the REAL location where Julius Ceaser was assassinated which was verified by a tour guide.
