Casette Monti offer a range of apartments within an apartment block (not your US style 'block') so this may not be true of all apartments.
Overall, we were more than happy with the apartment. We were 2 couples and my husband and I had the pull out bed in the main room while our friends had the double bed in the bedroom.
The location couldn't be better. It's a 5 minute walk to the colloseum and, depending on your appetite for walking, all the sights are available on foot. We covered about 20km per day. Buses are available but walking worked for us.
The apartment itself has a bedroom, sizeable bathroom and living space including a kitchenette and dining table with 4 chairs. The pull out bed is in the main living space.
The table was great as we could play card games before and after dinner.
The only complaint I have is the pull out bed. As expected, it was a very thin mattress but that wasn't the main issue. Everytime you moved even a tiny bit, the squeaky noise the bed made was absurd. My husband and I could barely sleep and he still has a bad back 10 days later.
Some of the apartments in the building were clearly privately owned and as it was new year there were all night parties but that's to be expected.
If you want somewhere in spitting distance of the sights and great food and drink, try here. Just ask about the pull out bed first!
Stayed in a one bedroom apartment with my Mum. Quiet, spacious apartments in a great part of Rome for dining and sightseeing. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, attentive staff. Loved staying here, even though I was on the pull out bed!
