Description: Sidoro is very famous for its "taste" of pasta, a tasting pasta dishes selected by the chef. So you can enjoy, in addition to classic early Romans as bucatini or spaghetti alla Carbonara Amatriciana, our classics of all time and our news accompanied by fine wines. 3 The daily arrivals of fresh fish, meat of first quality and excellent desserts made by our pastry chefs greatly enrich the proposal of our local.

“Back after twenty years and again the best”
Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

We had been to this place in the early 90's, before it was refurbished. We went with a friend that was living in Rome at that time and had a memorable dinner. We tried to find the place on another trip but succeeded only on our last day and it was closed. So this time we booked a table for nine for dinner. Almost all of us ordered the selection of pasta dishes coming out at random, as decided by the cook, even though at the forth dish we were allowed to kind of suggest the pasta (spaghetti) and the sauce (seafood). The wine, suggested by the waiter, a chianti (Santa Cristina), was great with the food. On top of all that, dessert. Prices were fine too. Only one problem, we really ate too much. It was, again, our best meal in Rome.

“Friendly staff; nice ambiance; good value”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Located a few short blocks from the colosseum, this restaurant had a variety of tables -- 2, 4, and 6 person tables, and some larger communal tables in additional rooms. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic and authentic. Staff was very friendly (although a bit slow, but after a couple glasses of wine no one in our party cared) and helped make for a very enjoyable evening. Among the menu choices is a pasta "tasting" option that provides a number of small plates of pastas with different sauces - a hit with two in our party of five. Remainder of the courses we selected were well prepared. All in all, a good value near the colosseum.

“Food OK - service Dreadful”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

All tables are for 6, so you will be sharing canteen style.
The woman who took the order seemed more interested in her mobile phone than us. i ordered a decent bottle of white wine, so when it had not arrived after 10 minutes I asked if we might have it. She apparently had just put it in the fridge to cool because it was warm, but wasn't going to tell us.
The waitress continued to look around (at anything)when she was supposed to be serving us. When what we took to be the owner sat down for dinner, that completely diverted her attention away from us.
We ordered seafood risotto but were served about 6 mussels and 6 clams with boiled rice. Not risotto!
When the bill arrived the 12 percent service charge certainly came as a surprise as I didn't recall that being shown on the menu and we were not charged that at other restaurants in Rome.
No wonder they felt that they didn't need to provide good service!

“Nothing interesting”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

I had a risoto with apples, pinoli and whatever. Whatever because I cannot remember the taste. The apple was just a cream over cooked. Too much rice and not enough pinoli. Service? kind of "don't care".I would like to know what they do with all the water we are almost obliged to buy (one liter for one person), 2,5 euros. Overall it was not expensive, though.
