I had read the reviews about this restaurant and went there two days ago.
Well, I can not say that the food was bad, but nothing so special, in fact in my opinion the tiramisu was not "home made" and the veal was pork.
Apart from that that it was freezing inside, the thing that made quite bad impression to me was that they don't give you a proper receipt at the end but only a hand written where they charge you for service 7euro - in our case (which is not mentioned in the menu), they charged us also for the bread and for the vegetables in the main course (4 euro each) which I found unusual.
The staff is very polite, the happy musician is ready to sell you his CD and everything is made for tourists who may never come back again. Me too.

Your visit to Rome isn't complete until you experience dinner at Il Giardino di Albino! The staff welcome you as though you are family. The food is excellent, the service friendly and superb. Umberto will serenade you with guitar and wonderful voice.

Have the House Antipasta - they literally deliver the antipasta bar to your table, so you could make a meal of this alone. But don't miss the pasta - penne in chili tomato sauce, or gnocchi with gargonzola - fantastic! If you have room for the second course, highly recommend the fish and veal. You will think you're in heaven!

Expect around euro 40 per person, including wine and service (the list includes several very good bottles of wine for 25 euro or less).

And for dessert treat yourself to gelato for a truly memorable experience! We enjoyed it so much we went back again (3 of 5 nights).

On our last night in Rome, we had dinner at Il Giardino di Albino, which had been recommended by one of our friends. We must say, this was probably the most enjoyable dinner experience we had in Rome. The restaurant itself was beautiful, the food was great, and the wait staff was terrific. They had a singer who strolled about singing Italian songs. Considering the location in the heart of Rome, the bill was very reasonable. Will definitely visit with them again on our next trip to Rome!

We have just returned from a short break in
Rome, and the trip was worth it entirely just to have had the pleasure of a meal in Il Giardino di Albino. The moment we walked through the door we were made to feel as if we were family, and the waiters were so friendly and helpful. We had the house antipasto - there was so much food we didn't think we could have a main course. The waiter brought mozzarella and ricotta cheese in buckets, another bucket with masses of different salamis to try, and then the grilled vegetables, the eggplant, the roasted peppers and more arrived. The taste was wonderful but despite our protests we were persuaded to then have a main course! We all had fish - fresh sole and fresh seabass. Lightly flavoured, beautifully cooked. Ice-cream, coffee, and Sardinian cakes were then proffered. We had the house wines - both Sardinian - and they were fantastic. Amaretto finished off a most amazing meal and thankfully we were in no way hurried off the premises as we needed quite some time to digest! There were some large parties in that night but the restaurant is sectioned off so it is possible to have privacy even with crowds around. There is often music also from the proprietors son with his guitar and this results in a big sing-song with the larger groups!! All in all it is a wonderful experience and that alone will bring me back to the eternal city.
