“This place is great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

It's a bit off the main streets, but so worth the walk. As some one else wrote here, it feels local. The staff is nice and friendly. Our waiter was lovely. The food is good value for money. The restaurant has a nice patio. It's decorated a bit old fashioned, but for some reason it feels right. The food tasts all freshly made, starters, anti pasta, main courses and deserts are all great and particularly for what we paid it is excellent! I would not hesitate to go again and I would recommend this since it is a place that feels authentic. Toptip: Ask for the sausage basket! We didn't have it, but some else did and the waiter brought in a huge basket with loads of different sausages and a knife to cut your own slices, it looked great! Go here and you won't be disappointed! Oh and there was even live music!

“Excellent restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

The food and service at this restaurant were our best in Rome. It is a small restaurant tucked on a side street with the most delicious food. The restaurant could go unnoticed, but I am so glad we stumbled upon it. We actually dined there twice because we were having such terrible luck in the many tourist traps we dined in. I felt as if this was more of a locals restaurant. My daughter and husband loved the sea bass and it is deboned table side by our wonderful waiter we had twice!
We liked the chicken with potatoes, fresh grilled vegetables and minestrone soup we also had. If you like antipasto and meats, they bring them out to the table as hunks of sausages.
I highly recommend this restaurant!

“Feel like a local”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

On a side street between the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, we felt like a local. This is not a fast meal - and you won't want it to be. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. There is entertainment, and if you order a glass of house wine, they leave you the bottle. This was one of our favorite experiences.

“Return visits signify our enjoyment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

We spent 4 nights in Rome recently, staying very near the il giardino di albino so it was a short walk after a day's hard sight-seeing. The first night we received a warm welcome and were treated to an excellent, freshly cooked meal served by helpful and attentive staff. We agree with other reviewers who comment on the size of the antipasta; one between two provides an ample and delicious starter. After venturing elsewhere we returned to the same restaurant and were greeted as old friends. As it was Saturday and very busy, it was a good thing that we had booked, but service and food were again first class - the fish, expertly filleted at the table, was wonderful. Our final visit the next night was just as good and the free liqueurs and desserts brought with the bill were a most enjoyable treat - the staff knew we were going home the following day, so these were not given to us to ensure we returned! We found nothing to criticise; the atmosphere, service and food were entirely to our taste and we would recommend this restaurant without hesitation - but do book if you wish to eat before about 20.30 at weekends. We could not agree with the recent poor reviews and find them surprising as they did not match our experience, except perhaps that it is quite noisy when it is full but this was merely the hum of conversation encountered in a good restaurant rather than anything antisocial or upsetting. It is also worth mentioning that this restaurant was frequented by several Italian families in addition to tourists - always a good sign!
