“Very nice hotel at a good price for the location”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

A nice cosy hotel near the Vatican. Importantly, the service and dedication of the staff is commendable. My wife had left her wallet in the hotel and the staff made all efforts to ensure that we got it back in a different country (they were even prepared to drive to our airport if necessary, although it was too late by the time they got hold of us).

The room was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. The bed was comfy and the facilities were of a good standard. The breakfast was nice and seemed similar to what I have had before when in Continental Europe. The staff have done a good job in providing a good service in this small hotel, which the owner seems to be trying to run with skeleton staff (and sucessfully too!).

Very friendly staff who are always willing to do something extra (information/arrange/sort out).
Located on the 3-the floor of a building in a quiet street close to the Vatican, within walking distance of shopping streets, restaurants and more busy/lively streets.
Neat bathroom and room, so to see recently renewed.
Small and cosy, with attention from the staff, making you feel at home.
Price/quality ratio is very good.
There is nothing negative to note.
However you have to take into account a small reception and small breakfast room.

We really enjoyed our four night stay at Papavista Relais. We booked it based on Tripadvisor reviews and thought it was great value for moneyand in a perfect location. It was easy to locate especially as we had checked on goolemaps beforehand. We caught the Sip bus from Fiumicino and walked from the stop near Piazza Cavour - only 15 mins although there is also a direct local bus. We had booked tickets for the Pope's General Audience and online tickets for the Vatican Museums - both were amazing. We walked almost everywhere but caught the bus a couple of times, which was easy. Our room was lovely - very clean, lovely bathroom, fridge and great view over the front. Breakfast was great too as was the breakfast lady - Stefania? and all staff were very helpful. The recommended restaurants were great value with superb, and we used the DK Top Ten book for places to see and eating out around Rome. You can never see everything so we will return.

Tiny b&b in an excellent location, perfect for the Vatican! Staff are all excellent and willing to help. Rooms spotless but in need of slight improvement- cracked bathroom tiles and such. Biggest downfall is breakfast- far too limited options could do with improvement.

After looking for a while on trip advisor & various other sites for our trip to Rome, we came across Papavista & what a little find!! After booking we had a welcome email with lots of information on how to get to the hotel by using train, bus or organising a taxi for you. We chose the taxi route in the end just so we could get to hotel as quick as we could. A few days before, it dawned on us that we'd have to eat, so I emailed reception who kindly booked a table at one of their recommended restaurants very close by for us.
As for the hotel & staff. The hotel was very clean & the rooms just right. We had room 302 which looked out over to the Vatican museum so it was literally out the door & up a few steps to the museum. We bought a Roma pass, (very good to beat some queues plus gives you entrance to a couple of museums & sites) but to be honest we walked everywhere as the hotel was within easy reach of the main attractions & by doing so we saw so much more of the city as their are a lot of hidden gems down the side streets that you would definitely miss on a metro or bus. We were 5 mins walk to St Peters square & about 45-60 mins gentle stroll to the colosseum. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating & very friendly & on arrival gave us a little Map to explain the main points to try & visit so you can make the most of your stay. Rooms cleaned & made up everyday & a good breakfast to start the day. Overall a very nice stay & I would recommend Papavista to anyone. One very good tip that David on reception gave us & we found very helpful due to the queues for the Vatican museum, is reserve your tickets online a week or so before your visit. This saved us from at least a 2 hour queue.

This little B&B is a diamond in the rough! Stayed in a corner room (Room 302).

Pros: You can see the entrance to the Vatican Museum from your window. A two minute walk.
Breakfast served in the breakfast room or brought to your room (all included in the price!)
For Europe, the rooms were fairly large.
Hotel is on 3rd floor of building. Has private entrance so security is no problem.
Ten minute walk to the closest metro.
Last (but certainly not least) the service you get is unbelivable. You all the help you'll ever
need to plan your day from the staff. They were awesome!
Cons: Only two things: The showers were small, and the beds were a tad hard. Nowhere near enough to make me not want to come back here though.

Thouroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much! My wife and I appreciated it very much!

Room Tip: Ask for room 302. Closest view of the Vatican.

PapavistaRelais was in a great location tourist sites within walking distance, close to train station. We were satisfied with the cleanest and size of our room the staff was very nice helpful and personable. A full breakfast was included with our stay. Papavista is a small establishment but that allows the staff to offer personal attention to their guess would definitely recommend and stay the next time I'm in Rome.
