My family and I visited Rome in October and used Real Rome Tours for our afternoon at the Colosseum. Our guide, Sabrina, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Colosseum. She came prepared with a binder full of pictures to give us a better sense of what the Colosseum looked like in the past. She was fantastic. We booked the underground tour and it was amazing. As part of the underground tour, we were supposed to be able to walk the arena floor. Through no fault of Real Rome Tours, we were told we couldn't enter because of a private party. Apparently, the staff at the Colosseum doesn't have to tell anyone when they are hosting an event (not even tour companies). Even though the event was over and cleanup was in progress, we were not allowed on. We were told all materials and staff had to be off the floor before entering. Our guide fought the good fight and spoke to several people to try to get us on the floor. She did everything she could but wasn't successful. Once cleaned up, we didn't have time to go back. Although a little disappointed, it didn't take away from the experience. I would recommend Real Rome Tours and Sabrina.

I’m glad I had breakfast before we started... there is lots of information, and a long walk, but you don’t want Tonia to go. She made the time fly, with all her comments, details and special way to share and glue all the data for you in a way that make sense and becomes cohesive.

Bravo Tonia.... I’ll be back ; )

We had a fantastic 4hr tour with this company which took in the Forum and Colosseum, skip the line (including underground). You need to book a few months before you go or you won't get the underground addition because these are limited places which sell out fast. This tour gave us a wonderful incite to these ruins and our guide had several pictures to show us of how the ruins looked before. We started with the Forum first and once the tour was finished we could stay in the Colosseum for as long as we wanted to. This was only a small group to and we all had audio so could always hear what was being said. The initial meeting place was easy to find to. Would highly recommend this company.

Great tour! Our guide, Marle, was fantastic. A native English speaker so easily understandable and really educational. We learnt so much and got a really good picture of the history of the Roman Empire.

One of the best tours, well run, amazing tour which covered a lot on the Colosseum and surrounding areas. This was a skip the line tour. Easily whent for over 3 hours. Can recommend it, but be prepared for a bit of a walk.

At first we were a little hesitant to book this tour since it was a little pricey compared to tours that didn’t include the Colosseum underground, but we were so glad we did. Our guide was amazing. He had a great mix of information and humor, and kept a pace that allowed for pictures but provided a lot of interesting information that really enhanced our appreciation for the sights we were seeing. We were in a smaller group (approx 14 people) which was really nice to be able to navigate through the sites. This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip. I can’t recommend them enough!

We took both the Semi-Private Ancient Rome & Colosseum Underground Tour & the Skip the Lines Vatican Tour: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St Peter’s Basilica. Both were great - very informal but with great, knowledgeable content by our guide & delivered in a very personable way. The same guide for each, lives in Rome, with excellent English. The audio system was brilliant with a great range so you still listen as you browsed an area but could still pick up the commentary. Would definitely recommend.

The Vatican is so vast you really need a good tour to take you around. The crowds were enormous too and I guess the majority of the tours are taking more or less the same route through the Vatican. So, it's pretty much like being pushed along through a sausage machine. But, I've got to say our tour guide was great navigating through all this and the wireless audio system worked very well and with a good range. She was a native of Rome and had great knowledge of not just the Vatican but also the history and inter-relationships of the city through time. All very interesting and highly recommended.

Amazing experience. Our tour guide shared significant knowledge about art history and the historical and religious context of the time. On a day with hours to wait in line, we entered in only ten minutes. What a great afternoon!
