Probably the best known coffee bar in Rome if not Italy. Service outside can be slow and expensive. Do as the locals do and stand at the bar, it is quicker and way less expensive. Is the coffee good?, well all the coffee in Italy is good. maybe because of where you are this coffee is just that bit better, you be the judge. Stay away on Sundays it is like a zoo.

Perhaps we are all clueless about coffee, or good service. Perhaps we don't mind being treated as transient wallets...

"Won't see him again, who gives a damn if he gets gouged or not, plenty more dumb idiots will make their way to our shop."

Vote with your feet I say... Nothing to see here.

Caffe Sant' Eustachio serves the best, but most expensive espresso we had in Rome. If you need a serious shot to revive, this is the place. Busy with locals stood at the bar, and others buying bags of beans to take away.

If you like being hustled and bustled while trying to sip your espresso this is the place to go. The place is heaving with tourists and locals I am sure due to the rave reviews in all the guide books, good coffee and it's central location. However, I don't like being bashed into every few seconds and left quick to take shelter in another coffee bar across the road populated with locals who were tittering to themselves, as they looked across the road at the Eustachio mania. The reason for the tittering I deduced was on sipping their cafe's espresso it tasted exactly the same as Eustachio's. I only wish I could recommend that as the place to go but I can't recall the name - but it is clearly diagonally opposite. Much more civilised. Still it's always nice to tick the box against these highly rated places.

We have been coming here for years. It is simply the best coffee in Rome. Some say it is the water, others say it is the beans. Whatever it is, is it just fantastic. There are times when there are so many customers that they close the iron gates so no more patrons can enter - that's how busy/popular it is. We always purchase coffee beans to bring home.
