The food was good, not a gourmet delight, but the rest was an experience. Our B & B recommended it and we ended up in a narrow street at the back door. We knocked and someone yelled " roun' to da front", so we eventually found the entrance. An indifferent waiter seated us and was a little miffed when we asked to be moved to a different section, We looked around and we were the only people there. This is a great place? So, we ordered our food. But then the patrons filed in and totally filled the place. The decor is, what would you say?, American western, sea scape, odd, memorabilia of past visitors, all yes in a weird combination. The waiters must have needed a warmup as the service was great the rest of the evening. Then the house band showed up going to each table. They sang opera, Italian songs, and at our table, finding we were Americans, sang Elvis and Tony Bennett. It was a great time in a warm atmosphere eventually doing sing a longs.
Yes, it was a fun time.

Decent food but the service is affirmatively rude. It was clear from the moment we arrived that they had no interest in serving us with even a modicum of politeness. We were essentially ignored until we waited over 30 minutes for a check, eventually getting up and walking away from the table in order to get someone to actually let us pay. Our table was so close to the roof we could not stand up completely, it was hot and cramped and truly uncomfortable. Many other better options in Rome.

The restaurant is in a great location, has plenty of sitting space outside, and more limited inside.

I found the food to be lacking the "wow" that you enjoy eating almost everywhere in Italy. We were served pasta amatriciana, and pasta with funghi and cream, then the meat was pork with rosemary.

We went as part of a conference, which had a set menu, so, my comment may not be 100% representative of the actual menu. Perhaps that's the attractive, as they had available a non-gluten pasta option, and also a kosher menu (fully plastic wrapped to ensure no contamination). This may have been an authentic place once upon a time, which more recently tweaked it's offering to satisfy a 'meat and potatoes' clientele.

The house wines (red and white) were just acceptable.
As for desert we were served panna cotta with a blackberry medley. Probably the best part of the meal

I am a first generation Italian American. My parents are from the Ciociaria, outside of Rome in the Province of Frisinone. We have been to Italy about 35 times over the years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. We are planning to be in Rome at the end of October, and on my agenda as usual is Da Meo Petacca.
One of our favorite places to visit in Trastevere is this restaurant. The "professionals" will say that it is touristy, and it is!!!! However it is a place that makes you feel good, and you will have a night to remember. The food is very good, not too expensive, but the pleasure comes from the music. They have a group of singers that sing all of the Neopolitan songs that ;your expect to hear when visiting Italy. We always take our friends there, and they always enjoy themselves, as we do. The place is always crowded, and it is not Ruth's Chris. It is an Italian restaurant and it always delivers for us.!!!!!!

We ate here last night with high expectations due to various reviews. Overall it was a nice evening. The starter was a bit overlooked and the waiter was a bit pushy to order more alcohol/food which wasn't that nice. However the main of which I had the mixed grill and my partner had a pasta dish was delicious and the band that was playing added to a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.
