Visiting Rome (and Italy) is as much about the food as anything else. And with thousands of restaurants to choose from you could always benefit from the advice of some trusted friends. Anyway, that's what we always do.
In Rome one of the recommendations from our 'network' was Da Cesare. And it turned out to be the best roman food experience for us.
We arrived as the first guest for lunch and was rewarded with free choice of seating and much attention from the waiter. We decided on a table outside. Soon after the restaurant filled with italians in business suits.
Food was excellent (try the roman artichokes in season!). Prices reasonable compared to the high standard. We paid €87 for two persons, incl water, antipasti, pasta, coffee and tiramisu.
