Description: *** Please note that we will be temporarily closed for the summer season from 31 Jul 2017 to 3 Sept. *** Those looking for a restaurant in St. Peter, in Arlu will find a pleasant and familiar atmosphere where you can taste lunches and dinners made with natural ingredients, with an excellent balance between quality and price. From over fifty years we welcome tourists and lovers of good food in an unpretentious atmosphere, furnished with style and elegance. In the kitchen we favor seasonal raw materials and this guarantees freshness and digestibility to our dishes, from meat to fish passing through appetizers and desserts. Maximum attention is paid to the preparation of homemade biscuits, bread, cakes and pasta. To all this is added the kindness of a harmonious staff, composed of the members of a family that for a generarions has been handed down the craft of the restaurateur. Traditional cuisine and Mediterranean atmosphere, but also warmth and affection worthy of the italian culture.

we left St Peters and had time to kill prior to a prebooked visit to the Vatican Museum. walking along the pedestrian streets nearby, many restaurant staff were asking us to sit at their restaurant and they all looked pretty much the same. stopping eventually at one we sat , and while waiting for the waiter to take our order we casually asked the people at the next table how their meal had been. based on their feedback, we quickly got up and left!

The next place on the strret was ARLU. we saw locals eating, saw good food, a small queue, and staff that were smiling. We took a gamble and had the best food, best service ever experienced in Rome.

Price was a little higher than other places but only by about ten percent, and everything was just so much better. The pesto was to die for. The pizza had sensible amounts of toppings unlike other places. Great gnocci with spinich.

A great suprise given the tourist trap environment. And lovely family run ambiance.

We visited the place while leavig Vatican. We had a pasta dish and meatles lasagne which was a real joy! Also ordered a classic tiramisu which is second to best we had in Rome (check out the one from Pompi also reviewed on Trip Advisor). It is true that one of the waiter sometimes seems to forget things as he forgot about our bill and had to be reminded. Still I fully recommend the place.

Pretty, clean, friendly but professional staff. We were able to communicate in English. We did not feel rushed to vacate the table, as once at lunch they were very busy.
It was obvious that locals frequent this restaurant which is a good sign.
We would recommend anyone who enjoys good food to go here and it is also close to the Vatican.

I don't expect much from restaurants around touristy locations. Especially around Vatican. But this small place is simply outstanding. While there are lots of flashy restaurants with annoying waiters waiving you in, this little place is easy to overlook. The decor is nothin special either. The surprise hits you when the food comes. Try grilled calamari, any type of veal and don't forget tiramisu for désert - thé best one I've ever had.
