“Value for money away from the tourist hoardes”
Reviewed April 7, 2010

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was on the small side with not much storage space but we were only there a few days so just kept everything in my suit case. We had access to a spacious outdoor terrace which was nice to catch a bit of sun. The only downside to the room was that there was no door on the shower and the loo door did not shut entirely so not much privacy but we managed! Overall however, the decor was fine, the room was clean and it was suitably quiet for a good night's kip after a hard day's sight seeing. The best feature is the roof terrace where they serve a decent buffet breakfast. Another great asset has to be the reception staff who were very helpful providing advice from bus times to museum opening times and markets, happy to look anything up for us if they didn't know straight away and spoke good English. I would also advise, if you're a non-smoker, to make sure to request a non-smokng room, away from any smoking rooms. I woke up on the last night because someone was smoking next door and the smell wafted through. The hotel area is ok. Unfortunately there is a lot of graffiti everywhere but that seems quite common! Didn't spot many bars or restaurants, it's mostly a residential area, but we managed to find a nice restaurant called La Violetta nearby for a first evening which was very popualr with the locals. It also has good transport links, the metro is about 10 minutes walk away and the bus, 5 minutes walk away where the number 82 takes you straight into the centre of Rome in about 10-15 minutes. There is also an overground station about 10 minutes walk which takes you to the airport and is one stop away from the night life in Travestere. We purchased a Roma Pass at the airport station for 20 Euros, its like a 3 day travel card with discounts on certain museum entries (didn't incldue the Vatican though which is a must do if you're a museum boffin). However, we didn't use it enough to get our value for money as we mostly walked everywhere (best way to see Rome) using the bus and metro occasionly to get in and out of town, which is very cheap anyway, (bus -1Euro per trip, Metro - 1.50).

The rooms were small but very modern, clean and neat. The location was perfect, near bus, metro and train, all 500 meters away and very quite place, we didn't have any problems sleeping at night. The service was excellent, everything we asked we had it with no complaints. The breakfast was excellent, every morning it had a buffet with lots of goodies. The hotel wasn't expensive at all. I totally recomend it and I would stay there again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations as I entered the very small reception area, but when you enter the room you realise you made a good choice, if you wanna be far from the tourists and experience real roman life then stay here as the San Giovanni area is beautiful and not crammed with people taking pics, just across the block from the hotel is San Giovanni in Laterano Basilica that is breathtaking during the day and even more so at night, also close by is the famous pompi bar where they claim they have the best tiramisu and the locals from all over rome come and get their piece, the hotel is 4 metro steps from the spanish steps and is nice and clean, breakfast at the rooftop is also refreshing although the service isn't top notch, all in all if you want an authentic roman experience then stay at this hotel and go walking and explore the area

We stayed at Cinemusic for 3 nights of our 3 week long tour of Italy. Out of the 6 other places we stayed at, we always compared every other hotel to this one. The entire Hotel is done up in a very modern, eclictic kind of way. Very clean rooms friendly helpful staff and conveinently located near the Tuscolana train station as well as the Re di Roma metro station. Getting to and from the Airport was very easy via Tuscolana train station as well as seeing central Rome via re di roma metro station. There are a couple of grocery stores near by as well as a couple of really nice restaurants not to mention tons of pizza parlours within walking distance to the hotel. This was for sure one of the nicest places we stayed at and will remember Cinemusic when we talk about our trip to Italy.

I was there only one night. I was so lucky that I sleept in the suite for the price of a standard room (because there was no other free room), and it was simply amazing. The jacuzzi-tub in the living room, the nice decoration, the automatic air-condititon, and the great breakfast. Best Hotel in Rome, and very good value for money.

Stayed at the cinemusic for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly, room was confortable, modern and clean. Nice breakfast room and jacuzzi lounge at the top floor. Breakfast was kind of poor, but ok. Location was handy for trains at tusculana station and metro at re di roma. There's also a bus station nearby for the route 85 that goes to the center (colosseo, piazza venezia, via del corso).

The hotel is really new, it has a very modern design, is very clean, the breakfast is fantastic, they serve a very good capucino, great service from the staff and the reception is very helpfull. The location is ok, not really something to see around there but its about 200m (3min. walk) to the metro station and the center of rome its only 2 or 3 stops away. You also have a free wired internet connection in your room and a lcd tv. The aircondition was working good to. The only negative thing is that the room is a bit small but it wasnt so important for me since the bathroom was spacious. A great stay in Rome!
