Nice old-school apartment, lovely old wood furniture, awesome terrazzo floors, modern kitchen, and a large balcony joining the living room and kitchen and bedroom. Good water pressure in the shower.
Great lived-in neighborhood with a huge farmers market (Mercato Latino) 2 blocks away. Well-stocked outdoor florist, and 24 hour supermarket 1/2 block away.
Local people only, no tourist traps nearby, so practice your basic Italian questions and greetings.
We walked to the Colosseum and back, twice. A nice 20-25 minute stroll depending on your route.
Often very noisy at night with the windows open.
Between the sirens and the (nightly) garbage trucks (yes, I know "it's Rome") ....if you're planning on sleeping with the windows open, bring ear plugs for sleeping. If your stay is in the winter or summer (with the windows closed, a/c or heater running) the noise may be a non-issue.
Although no clothes dryer was mentioned in the web description, air-drying our (many) clothes on the balconies per the hosts instructions didn't work well for us.
Overall, it's a wonderful place, and we really enjoyed it.
If you go, see Ahmed at Tri Piramidi pizza around the corner on Via Licia.
We wanted to see and inhabit a slice of Roman life today. The apartment on Via Gallic is perfect—graciously large, well-equipped and surrounded by the convenience of good shops and restaurants (try Sardo for excellent tuna tartare and grilled fish! The local host, Luisa, welcomed us and guided us, solving every small and large challenge along the way!
Very clean, spacious and well equipped.
It is just a 10 minute walk to the Metro station and the local buses are even closer.
There is a very good supermarket just across the road, as well as nice cafes, pizza and ice cream.
Luisa and the driver were both very friendly and helpful.
It felt like a 'home from home' and we had a lovely holiday.
The apartment location is great - on Via Gallia. Nearby super-market, cafes, fruit stands, Metro, taxi stand. Has good size two bedrooms, two baths, living room. Kitchen is a bit tight but well stocked and functional.
Luisa, our host, was wonderful. She spent her time providing us much information, arranged for the airport transfer, and checked on us daily.
As other reviews stated, the apartment is adequate. The manager has an office within the apartment and spent some time there after we arrived. I was having a friend join us a day or two later. She demanded that additional money to be paid in cash not through TripAdvisor. She continued to have an attitude after this. We did enjoy our stay here but be prepared to walk. If you are going site seeing in Ancient Rome, I would recommend a taxi for your return.
You can breath the owner’s care in any detail. The bedrooms are very wide and sunny, the matresses extra comfortable, the kitchen perfectly equipped, and there are 2 bathrooms, so it could be perfect even for 2 couples travelling together.
The neighborhood is ful of any kind of shops and also an open air market, where buy fresh vegetables and fruits.
With a 15 minutes walking you arrive to the Colosseum. The metro station is 10 minutes walking.
How refreshing to find this wonderful apartment was exactly as described, even a little understated.
Myself, wife and Mother~ in~ law love the place. Perfect location, fully equipped to very high standard.
Our host Luisa was amazing, very welcoming, friendly, helpful and generous. I genuinely recommend this apartment to even the most discerning.
A huge Grazie to Luisa and every kind wish
